Chapter 22: 22

“That went well,” Kinsley said happily as she walked into the washroom and stood in front of the mirror,
removing her earrings. “I honestly was not sure they would get along or be happy about our
engagement. I must say I am pleasantly surprised,” she reached for the pins in her hair, letting her long
locks tumble down her back and over her shoulders.

“My mother will have the wedding planned by noon tomorrow if you allow her,” he said from the other
room. “We could be married by the end of the week.”

“She can plan a wedding that quickly?” She asked, coming back into the bedroom to watch him remove
his sash and unbutton his dress Jacket.

“My father thinks he runs a nation, but the truth is he is a figurehead. My mother pulls his strings. If she
micromanages an entire country, she can plan an extravagant wedding in her sleep,” he said as he
shrugged out of his jacket.

She smiled as she watched him go about undressing. He moved around the room with ease now. It
was as if he had every inch of the room memories. He did not need his cane or Brutus’ help to find his
way around. So long as the made did not move anything, he was good. Unfortunately, it was the only
room in the house where he had the confidence to move around unaided.

He draped his jacket over the chair in the corner and then proceeded to unbutton his white linen shirt.
Kinsley leaned against the washroom door, watching him undress. It was such an erotic sight. The man

him as he tossed his shirt onto the chair with his jacket. She ran her hands up his toned back and over

“It is amazing what a shave and some fine clothes will do for a man’s image,” she slipped around him

“This polished regal look is so sexy,” she purred, brushing her lips over him but refraining from actually

“Does it now?” He was grinning. He dipped his head and grazed his lips over her ear. “And what does

She giggled and shoved him hard. He fell back against the bed, and she reached for his belt. Kinsley
tugged his pants off and then his shorts. She dropped to her knees and took his thick manhood in her

A strangled groan drew Kinsley from her sleep. She rolled over in the dark and reached out for
Nicholas, only to find herself alone. The room was pitch black. She reached for the clock on the
nightstand and tried to focus on the time. It was three in the morning. She tossed back the covers and
got out of bed.

Kinsley made her way to the washroom. The lights were out, and the room was dark. She reached out
and turned on the light to find Nicholas on his knees, bent over the toilet, vomiting. His whole body
shook with the effort. Kinsley came to his side, and she stroked his hair, which was wet with sweat. She
looked him over. His flesh was pale, and he was perspiring profusely. His hands gripped the sides of
the bowl so tightly they were white-knuckled.

He heaved again, his whole body shaking, and she wondered how long he had been in here. Kinsley
knelt down next to him, rubbing his back and trying to comfort him. She glanced in the bowl and
instantly became concerned. He was not bringing up vomit, no what he brought up was green bile
mixed with blood. She was greatly concerned. They sat there for a few more minutes, and then



Nicholas stretched his arm out over the seat and lay his weary head on his arm. His eyes closed. Poor
thing was all worn out.

With some coaxing, she managed to convince Nicholas to go back to bed. She helped him to his
unsteady feet and walked him back to the bed. Once he was comfortable, he fell asleep almost
immediately. She returned to the washroom and cleaned up, then turned out the light and returned to
bed. She would have to bring this up with his family in the morning.
