Before leaving the city, they spent a few more days in it so that Jennifer could learn the first phase of the Kanadi of a Primordial technique.
Meanwhile, Jason had already practiced it several times, and each time, he noticed an almost untraceable difference to the day before.
He was not quite sure if it was truly better than a body refinement technique, or if it would be more efficient to simply cultivate, but without giving it a proper try there was no way of finding out.
And, in fact, just a few sessions of practice was not worth being called 'giving it a try.' A single session took only a few hours each, and the life of a cultivator was extremely long.

With that in mind, Jason wondered how strong the heritage of halflings would be considered because he didn't have anyone to compare himself to.
Even after Jennifer started to practice the Kanadi of a Primordial technique, he didn't really have a comparison. Though both of them were halflings, they had no idea how much of an enhancement they received from a single practice session.
Because of that, Jason believed that the second stage of the technique would allow them to figure out more.
But for that to happen, considerable time would pass before the two of them would be able to attain that stage.
After all, they had to build up a foundation with the Kanadi of a Primordial technique, which could take extremely long.
With that in mind, the two of them simply shared their experience before doing whatever they pleased.
In fact, they were both oddly confident that the technique was extraordinarily powerful, which was saying something.
Both Jennifer and Jason were known for being picky with the technique they practiced.
After all, they didn't want to waste their precious time doing something that was useless.
Wasting time was a big no for them, and for both to believe that the technique was worth their time indicated a lot.
Yet, even after they practiced the technique, they knew that they had to leave the city.
Prolonging their stay would make them lose sight of their goals, and focus on practicing the Kanadi of a Primordial even more.
However, that was not something they would do right now.
The chances decreased even more after they heard the news of another large-scale attack.
This was a coordinated act of a few races that seemed to have established an alliance to overwhelm the three races that tried to defend the Julandra region.
The Shadow walker race was also in the alliance of races, which was something Jason found quite ridiculous.
It seemed like the Shadow walkers create more alliances than actually fighting, which was completely different to how he recalled his first encounter with a Shadow walker.
It had been a few years, but his first encounter with a Shadow walker had made him feel that they were more like cowards, clouded in darkness than anything else.
Thus, Jason couldn't help but shake his head with a dry smile on his face when he figured out that their second destination was located at the borders of the Shadow walkers' territory.
This was quite funny in Jason's opinion, even more so because the small territory the Shadow walkers had, was not worth mentioning.
However, this was also a clear sign that the Shadow walkers were either weaker than he expected, or that their territory on Manyr was only a small branch of their actual home which was elsewhere.
Yet, after thinking about it for a while, he realized that it didn't really matter to Jason, to begin with.
The only thing he was truly interested in the Shadow walkers was Lux!
He couldn't care less about the others, but Lux was the first person who had betrayed him, so it was only fitting for his revenge outside Argos to start right there.
Having seen the woman who was with Yan when the Shadow walker had brought them from Cyro City a few years ago, Jason was certain that he would soon meet Lux.
The best way to do that was to stir trouble at the borders, or possibly even inside the Shadow walker's territory.
Unfortunately, before he could start enacting the satisfactory part of their plans, they had to travel towards a particular city, where Jennifer's father was supposedly residing.
Yet, this caused the premonition in Jason's heart to deepen, and he believed that Jennifer would see something she wouldn't like at all.
Jason couldn't be sure of that, and he didn't say anything about his growing unease either as he was not able to clearly tell what would happen.
Despite that, he didn't feel desperation coursing through his body as it had been the case in two of the past incidents when he had lost his loved ones.
One was when he had a bad feeling about the cave where Scorpio had sacrificed himself to allow him to survive, and the other was the time his late masters had been assassinated.
As such, it couldn't be a matter of life-and-death, but his mind was still thinking about the things that may happen.
With that in mind, they left the city and were on their way towards the second destination that was a trip of more than two months.
On their way, they encountered many gruesome things and witnessed the reality about the 'nonchalant' way that many citizens of the Julandra region had previously acted, including just how wrong their behavior seemed to have been.
That was because the Xytra, the city that was, in fact, their destination was currently under the attack of the alliance including the Shadow walkers.
Their main force were tens of thousand of beings at the Ascendion stage, attacking the city that was struggling to defend itself.
And Jason clearly saw why this was the case- the city's number of defenders was much smaller than the attacking force…
"They're doomed!"
