Huozhu Chi and Linglong Xue both circulated their vital essence to form a protective veil, shielding themselves from the two different, but equally destructive powers.
The other self-cultivators, however, were thrown back as they all cried in pain. Some of their bones began to crack, and their bodies began to bleed heavily.
Qingfeng Li and Jun Po’s energies were too strong – it was a competition between light and darkness.
When those powers clashed together, they possessed the power to destroy the heavens and earth. The void around them broke into pieces and the ground beneath them began to crack. The only thing left standing was the Great Bronze Palace, which was under the protection of the Sun Monarch.
The lower level self-cultivators all became seriously injured, as they looked at the two with horror in their eyes.
“Qingfeng Li and Jun Po are too powerful. If I go up now, I will be killed in a second.”
“No wonder they are at the top of the Spirit Monarch List; I’ll never become as strong as they are no matter how long I cultivate for.”
“Can’t you see? The Sky-Breaking Halberd that Qingfeng Li is using looks exactly the same as Jun Po’s White Spirit Halberd. One represents darkness, and the other represents light, but both possess saint-level energy.”
“I am positive that Qingfeng Li and Jun Po cultivate saint-level techniques, or else they wouldn’t be this powerful.”
The self-cultivators discussed quietly as they laid on the ground, afraid of being torn into pieces by the horrific energy.
Jun Po pointed the White Spirit Halberd at Qingfeng Li and said coldly, “You bastard, you might have saint-level techniques and the Sky-Breaking Halberd, but I am going to kill you today.”
Jun Po waved his White Spirit Halberd in the air, creating an arc that possessed light energy.
This energy covered everything; the land, the skies… and then aimed itself at Qingfeng Li.
Qingfeng Li looked nonchalant as he waved the Sky-Breaking Halberd in the air and used the destruction technique. He created a ray of dark energy, which smashed right into the light, shaking up the heavens and earth.
In a split second, everything around them laid in destruction or was broken into pieces. Even the deserts, oases, forests, and mountains around them fell into waste.
Of course, the Great Bronze Palace wasn’t destroyed; it was the main grave of the Sun Monarch and would not fall so easily.
However, the two powers were so strong that they broke a hole in the Great Bronze Palace. Energy of treasures, including elixirs, armors, and weapons exuded out.
Huozhu Chi and Linglong Xue looked at each other with delight; then, they transformed into sharp arrows, shooting themselves right into the hall in an attempt to take all the treasures for themselves.
The other self-cultivators all rushed forward as well, and everyone piled into the Great Bronze Palace – it was, at that time, the safest place they could be, as everywhere else laid in destruction.
Qingfeng Li and Jun Po’s expressions changed as they saw everyone run in. They were too focused on each other, but their fight would not have been worth it if someone else obtained the legacy of the Sun Monarch.
Jun Po stared at Qingfeng Li murderously, “I will let you off the hook for now. Once I go in and obtain the inheritance of the Sun Monarch, I will be back to kill you.”
Then, he transformed his body into a sharp arrow, and shot himself straight into the Great Bronze Palace.
All that was left outside the hall was Qingfeng Li, Xue Lin, Mengyao Xu, and the others.
Xue Lin walked up to Qingfeng Li and asked, “Honey, are you alright?”
Qingfeng Li waved his hand, “I’m fine. Jun Po is quite powerful, his White Spirit Halberd and my Sky Shattering Halberd tied. You don’t see that every day.”
He quickly continued, “We don’t have time to hesitate, let’s go into the Great Bronze Palace, and obtain the inheritance as soon as possible.”
Then, they all ran into the hall.
Qingfeng Li felt a sense of violent energy as soon as he stepped foot into the gate. It was an energy that shook the heavens; it descended upon them, making it hard for them to even walk.
Qingfeng Li frowned in surprise – this powerful energy was probably left there by the Sun Monarch 5 thousand years ago.
Back then, the Sun Monarch controlled the entire planet as well as the Crimson Fire Continent. The monarch was also able to suppress all the self-cultivators.
As soon as they went in, they heard a series of loud noises. Qingfeng Li looked forward and saw a few self-cultivators fighting over a handful of level 8 Monarch-Realm elixirs to the left side of the hall.
Then, noises erupted to his right. Qingfeng Li looked over to see self-cultivators of other forces fighting over a level 8 Monarch-Realm technique.
There were other level 8 Monarch-realm treasures deep within the palace; even the Demon and Devil Monarchs were fighting for them.
The entire hall was filled with noises of fighting – it was hard to imagine that not too long ago, the self-cultivators were so friendly towards each other. Now, they were willing to slaughter one another to obtain monarch-Level elixirs, treasures, and techniques.
Soon, some self-cultivators died, while others were seriously injured. Blood spurted out of them, dying the entire hall red.
The smell of blood lingered within the hall, making others nauseous.
Xue Lin and the others all covered their nose with their palms to avoid smelling the scent of blood. They were disgusted by this living hell.
Qingfeng Li opened his mouth. “Come on, let’s head in.”
The main grave of the Sun Monarch was in the innermost point of the hall. Qingfeng Li was not at all interested in the elixirs, treasures or weapons. He was already of saint-level and possessed saint-level treasures so naturally, these things were below him.
Soon, Qingfeng Li and the gang passed through the front of the hall and entered the middle region.
A giant stone platform that was hundreds of meters tall stood in the middle. Atop the stone platform was a hundred-step staircase.
At the top of the staircase was another platform with a stone coffin – it was bronze.
The bronze coffin was carved with sun talisman scripts, along with images of the sun.
A stone monument stood beside the coffin, with the words “Grave of the Sun Monarch” carved onto it.
