She quieted down instantly, tears swirling in her eyes, and it was how she gazed straight at the man
before her
eyes.
She wanted to cry, but she couldn’t.
Her chest was heaving violently, but her face was unusually stoic.
She inhaled deeply. Emotions surged in her chest like a whirlpool, so intense that it was almost
agonizing.
