Chapter 409: It Is Not My Birthday

The reason why Sachin didn't tell him the truth probably was that he didn't want him to worry. But he
couldn't await his doom.

He stared at Julie, who was sleeping soundly, and made a decision.

He reached out and gently stroked her cheek, saying in a low voice, "Juliet, I will definitely exonerate
Mr. Elton."

Payton's number directly.

through.

"Juliet."

became tearful. She shouted discontentedly, "Where are you? Why aren't you at home?"

He was silent for a long time and said, "I come back to the Lu’s."

Juliet was stunned and asked, "Why do you suddenly go there?"

But she didn't ask any further. She simply asked, "When will you be back then?"

"I'll be back this afternoon at the earliest, but I can't guarantee this. It depends."

The car stopped in the parking lot in front of the Lu Family's villa. Payton opened the door and got off
the car. He looked up at the old villa with mixed feelings.

Every time he came back here, he felt as if this villa was unfamiliar to him.

The villa had both happy and unhappy memories of his childhood, but unhappiness outweighed
happiness.

After his mother moved out, he and his brother also moved out, because they felt that this was no
longer the familiar home they remembered.

When he entered the villa, the servants respectfully greeted him, which made him feel somehow

Benson sat in the living room and watched his son walking over with a serious and cold expression.

"Dad." Payton said.

Benson narrowed his eyes and said, "Why do you come back?"

back. Why are you asking me?"

Benson turned his head and tried not to look at him.

Payton was already accustomed to his father's cold attitude towards him. He sat down and remained
silent.

The vibe was awkward. Those who didn't know the situation would think that they were not familiar, so
they had nothing to say.

But the fact was that they were families, more specifically, unfamiliar families.

After a long while, Benson finally said, "You come back for the Elton family's case. Payton, you are still
too naïve."

Payton chuckled and said, "Since I dare to come back, there's nothing to be afraid of."

It became silent again.

After another long while, Payton started to speak.

"Dad, can you spare the Elton family?"



"Why?" Benson stared fixedly at his face and asked, "Why should I spare the Elton family?"

"Because I'm Sachin's younger brother."

"Do you know what price I will have to pay if I let the Elton family off?" Benson asked gloomily.

Payton nodded and said, "I know. That’s why I come here."

His expression was very calm.

It seemed that, as he had said, he already knew the consequences.

Benson's expression was filled with gloat. He said, "If you had come back earlier, those accidents might
not have happened."

Payton did not say anything. His father didn't treat him as his son at all. What he did was entirely for his
own good.

left.

In the evening, Payton finally returned home. But Juliet had already left.

Seeing the empty house, he felt as if his heart became empty at the same time.

He sat down and leaned back against the sofa with a sad expression on his handsome face.

politely said to her, "Sorry, today is not my birthday."

"What?" Tracy widened her eyes in surprise.

But she had seen his ID card. Today was indeed his birthday!
