“Come in,” she said coldly. “You have five minutes.”

Edison followed her inside, looking apologetic. “I’m so sorry, Ziana. I didn’t know Winifred would do
that. She’s always been arrogant and temperamental, but this time she went too far. She shouldn’t
have dragged you into this. Are you hurt?”

“Four minutes,” Ziana reminded him, sitting down on the sofa with a stony expression.

Edison fidgeted nervously. “I’m really sorry, Ziana. I really didn’t expect that. I know you’re angry, and I
apologize to you on her behalf. I hope you’ll forgive her.”

“There’s no need to apologize.” Ziana snorted dismissively, “I don’t accept it. It won’t change what
happened. Apologies can’t make up for the pain. You have three minutes left. If you continue to say
such nonsense, you can leave now.”
