Sophie stepped aside to allow him in and closed the door.

“It’s way past bedtime. Go take a shower and sleep.” Daylight would soon come if they waited any

by the time he arrived home.

He just didn’t want to let go of her. It was as though time could stop for as long as he continued to hug
her.

“But it’s getting really late. I’m tired.” The woman was truly exhausted from having spent the day eating
and receiving so many gifts.

Hearing that, Tristan picked her up.

Sophie had long grown accustomed to his embrace, so she looped her arms around his neck without a
second thought.

He then put her down on the bed gently and tucked her in.

“All right. Since you’re tired, you should hurry up and get some rest.”

“How can I fall asleep while you’re here? You should go to sleep too.”

“Okay.”

Tristan leaned closer and pecked her on the forehead before turning to leave.
