"What? Are you being serious?" Gu Chinatao could not bring herself to believe that a newbie artiste would turn down an offer from her acclaimed Diamond entertainment. "Is that because you are worried that I'm extending this offer purely out of my enmity towards Chen Ying? Let me be clear with you, this might be the initiative but I genuinely see great potential in you."
Chen Yi smiled apologetically. "That's not the reason."
"Then...could it be that you have another agency in your mind?"
"Yes."
"What might be the name of that agency?" Gu Chinatao asked, curious what agency could it be to have Chen Yi give up the opportunity of signing with diamond Entertainments,
Chen Yi's lips twitched into a smile. "Who else, the Fu entertainments." She laughed heartily. At Gu Chinatao strange expressions, she explained. "I still have to pay the compensation for making use of that video you lent me haven't I?"
"But...why would the 'Fu' entertainment sign you up? By my understanding of your cousin, she would try all means just to keep her enemies repressed..." Gu Chintao trailed off. Then, as if, she had come to an understanding, her eyes widened. "Wait! Isn't it what I'm thinking it is?"
Chen Yi glanced out of the window and laughed to herself. "Its exactly what you are thinking it to be." With humor in her tone, she said making Gu Chiantao almost whistle at her sharpness.

Driving back to the condo, Chen Yi swiped the card and filled the code Li Luxian had told her. To her surprise, it was not what it was the last time. The door lock showed an error. In confusion, she grabbed out her phone to ask Li Luxian only to find and an unread message from him.
"I have changed the door code to your birth date for your convenience." The text was followed by a series of winking and kissing emote.
A slight gesture from him was enough to put her heart into a state of loud throbbing. Chen Yi bit her lip before putting her phone down.
"Looks like my shrewd hubby is hell-bent on keeping me with him. Well, it's going to be a lot difficult to persuade him otherwise."
Changing the password to her convenience? What did it imply? It implied that if she was thinking she could get away with living with him for a couple of days then she was seriously mistaken.
That was Li Luxian own sweet, romantic way of making it obvious to her.
Getting in, she headed straight for the kitchen. Tying her long brown hair into a bun, she busied herself in the kitchen. What may come, she still recalled what she had said to Li Luxian back at one point in time when he graciously messaged her head so skillfully.
She wanted to have him taste the flavor of feeling inferior in something.
He was so good at everything! It was not fair. God was being unfair to gift him with the level of excellence with every possible skill. Chen Yi thought hard and cooking was something she had been praised often, even by Fu Liling. Thus, she volunteered to take the challenge.
By the time evening arrived, the door opened silently. Being too busy with her work, Chen Yi failed to notice. With utmost care, she continued to arrange the table with her lower lip bitten between her teeth as footsteps echoed across the lounge and made their way to the kitchen.
A tall handsome man, dressed in a formal businessman stood leaning against the door frame and smiled at the woman who worked so diligently.
He continued to observe for some time expecting to be greeted. He frowned after some time when the audacious woman did not say a single word conveniently ignoring his 'Holy' presence, finally making a slight noise to bring himself to focus.
Hearing that sudden 'cough' Chen Yi almost picked up a fork and stabbed the intruder. "You!" She jumped back in shock. Placing a hand over her chest, she almost cursed him. "What were you trying to so? Scare me to death?"
Profound amusement manifested in his eyes. "What are you up to?"
Chen Yi held back her glare and brought him to the dining table. Partly because she had worked hard to prepare everything. And to enjoy the food to its fullest, one must be in a good mood. She did not want to ruin the mood by chastising him. She would save that for later of course!
And the other part of the reason was, he looked so handsome in his business dress. How cold her humble self berate him?
"Look! Didn't I say I will have you speechless! Almighty Boss, Ultra-powerful CEO, Omnipotent Devil, hurry up and taste all the dishes I made and tell me they are delicious. I bet none of your five-star hotels could have served anything better!" Chen Yi was full of praises for herself while being fairly excited.
All of sudden, she felt a long finger grazing over her cheek. Tearing her excited gaze away from the sumptuous dishes, she blinked at Li Luxian in confusion.
It was until Li Luxian leaned in and she picked the devilish glint in his eye, she understood he was up to no good. Subconsciously, she stepped back. "What?"
"You had something on your cheek." He withdrew his hand. To her surprise, there was some batter over his finger that she had used to prepare the dessert. The understanding sunk in and she said. "Oh, yes! Everything took so much time. Besides, you came back early. I did not have time to clean myself." She hurriedly picked up a cloth intending to clean Li Luxian finger.
But, to her shock, when she turned back, she found Li Luxian sending a wicked smile in her direction before putting his finger in his mouth. Chen Yi stared wide-eyed as he took his finger out of his mouth with a 'slurp' sound.
Locking his eyes with hers, he said. "Indeed," as if he was not talking about the batter but something or 'someone' else, he said, "delicious."
