Chapter 300 - - Same

Chapter 300 – Same
After that, nobody came to bother her.
Lu Mingshu paced up and down since she couldn’t be at ease. After some time, she heard footsteps coming toward the room.
“Hurry up! Over here!” She could hear the Drug Lord’s voice.
Lu Mingshu debated for a while and went out of her room. She saw two guards carrying Xie Lianzhen into the room next to her.
Xie Lianzhen looked very pale. His eyes were shut, and his arms were filled with bruises and scars.
Lu Mingshu followed behind and stood at the door.
The Drug Lord didn’t take notice of her presence. He was sprawled on the floor, staring intensely at Xie Lianzhen and mumbling. “Weird, weird. Why did he have such a big reaction? Does he really know what he’s doing? What should I do…?”
He mumbled to himself.
Lu Mingshu looked at Xie Lianzhen with worry. Except for the first experiment, they all consisted of poison, and Xie Lianzhen didn’t learn the Transformation of Bones. What made things even worse was that he had only just recovered from his obsession during cultivation. What if he injured his meridians…?
“Right, the Rising Cloud Pellet!” Suddenly, the Drug Lord stood up abruptly and tried to feed Xie Lianzhen a pill.
“Hold on!”
The Drug Lord turned back around in shock. Seeing Lu Mingshu at the door, his jaw dropped. “What are you doing here?”
Lu Mingshu bit her lips to refrain from laughing. I thought he was a genius, so why does he look like a retard instead…?
“It is not a good idea to randomly use medicines during an experiment.”
Hearing Lu Mingshu, the Drug Lord glared at her. “Do you even know anything about medicinal science? Little witch, who do you think you are?”
Lu Mingshu ignored his rude comments. “You are trying to experiment on the effects of a new medicine. If you feed him some other things now, the results will certainly be affected.”
“Uh…” The Drug Lord scratched his head. That makes sense.
Lu Mingshu made a comment because she was afraid that he would damage Xie Lianzhen’s body, but seeing his reaction, Lu Mingshu couldn’t help but be suspicious about him. Was he really a pharmacologist? Lu Mingshu only acted as a pharmacologist during the arena in Tianyun City, but she still knew the basics of being one. It was common sense even for her, let alone the rest of the world, so a proper pharmacologist should know about that.
She kept her suspicions though and looked at the Drug Lord coldly. “If I were you, I would observe and only interfere if there’s danger to his life.”
“You know medicinal science?” The Drug Lord stared at her, blinking his eyes.
“Not really, I’m just an assistant.” Even though Xiao Sang only said some things, she could be considered to know medicinal science.
“So you’re a pharmacist’s assistant too!” The Drug Lord immediately became friendly with her. “No wonder.”
Too?
“We are the same!” The Drug Lord clapped and pulled her into the room. “Since you’re one as well, then let’s take a look together.”
Even though Lu Mingshu was still shocked that the Drug Lord was treating her better all of a sudden when he just called her a little witch, that didn’t matter when she was given such a good opportunity. Lu Mingshu walked over and pulled up Xie Lianzhen’s sleeve, trying to feel for his pulse. Maybe it was because he had taken so much medicine since he was young, but there was no danger to his life. She heaved a sigh of relief.
“So?” The Drug Lord couldn’t wait to interact with her.
“He won’t die.”
Hearing her cold reply, the Drug Lord giggled. “What kind of little girl are you?”
She snorted.
“But you are right. Let’s observe since he won’t die.”
Lu Mingshu heaved a sigh of relief hearing that. The experiment wouldn’t kill him, but being fed with nonsensical stuff would.
Since the Drug Lord didn’t chase her away, she just stayed there and observed Xie Lianzhen.
After an hour, Xie Lianzhen still hadn’t woken up. The Drug Lord was starting to get impatient. He looked over to Lu Mingshu, and an idea entered his mind immediately. “Hey you.” He pointed at her. “Since you are so free, then look after him for me. But, little girl, let me warn you; if you do anything stupid, I’ll know immediately.”
Lu Mingshu asked, “What’s in it for me?”
“Hmm, I’ll allow you to stay here and not the cell. How does that sound?” The Drug Lord placed one of his hands behind her and caressed his beard in an imposing manner. But for some reason, this action just made him look like a clown.
“I don’t want to be experimented on.”
“Don’t take a mile just because I’ve given you an inch.” The Drug Lord glared at her.
Lu Mingshu pointed at Xie Lianzhen on the bed. “Then why does he get that treatment?”
“He can help me improve my methods, but can you?” The Drug Lord sneered. Seeing that Lu Mingshu didn’t reply, he added on, “But I’ll promise you something since you’re a pharmacist’s assistant. If you make a contribution and I find someone else to take over for you, you can stop being a drug man.”
Hearing no reply from her, the Drug Lord laughed. “Okay, that’s it. Bye!”
He left immediately afterward.
Looking at him leave, Lu Mingshu waited for a moment. When she was sure that he wouldn’t return, she immediately entered the Heavenly Wheel.
“Xiao Sang!”
“I am here.” Xiao Sang was still on call.
“Do you still remember the liquid medicine I showed you? Is there any way to remove the poison from the body if someone went through the same experiment as I did?”
After a few minutes, Xiao Sang replied to her. “You could exchange for the grade B antidote. Fifty points would be needed.”
“Thank you.” Lu Mingshu exited the Heavenly Wheel immediately after she exchanged for the antidote.
She didn’t really take the Drug Lord seriously. Xie Lianzhen was not in good condition, so she needed to take a risk even if it meant getting exposed, otherwise Xie Lianzhen’s condition would worsen.
Luckily, after using the new medicine, Xie Lianzhen’s condition started getting better. His eyelids started moving and he seemed like he was about to wake up.
Xie Lianzhen felt like he had a long dream about his youth, practicing martial arts with his brothers. Lonely, playing games with the little prince, and various other things….
Lastly, he dreamed of a girl. When they first met, she was just a little girl crying for her mother. The second time he saw her, she was arrogant, lonely, and stubborn.
He woke up with a big smile. He was unclear about whether this was reality or a dreamland.
Pa! Lu Mingshu looked at him and pushed him. “Wake up!”
Xie Lianzhen sat up and rubbed his eyes. “Where’s the Drug Lord?”
“No idea.”
“He allowed you to just stay here?”
“He wanted me to take care of you.”
With no surprise, Xie Lianzhen nodded his head. He knew the Drug Lord well.
Silently, he looked at his hand. All the marks on his hand had disappeared. He looked at her with a smile.
She felt a little numb at his smile and got up. “Since you’re fine, I’ll go back now.”
“Ah…”
