“It’s the new year, and you two are going up the mountain to chop firewood?” Zhou Ying looked at the hatchet in their hands and asked.
“Yeah, there hasn’t been enough firewood since the new year. So, I’ve been staying at Brother Qian’s house. Otherwise, I’d freeze to death.” Gu Erjiang laughed dryly.
“You just had to be lazy, didn’t you? You would have been frozen to death, so let’s see if you’ll still be this lazy next time. Also, take the fish.” Zhou Ying continued. “Take this for another dish for tonight’s dinner.”
After that, she led Er Zhuang down the mountain. Otherwise, ugly rumors might spread if someone else saw them together on the mountain.
