As expected, the position and structure of the high school, there seemed to be no difference from what was in Soma’s memory. Mixing with the flow of those who wear the same uniform as themselves, Soma moved through a place that even felt nostalgic and stepped into the school building.
Of course, he had to head to his own classroom from here, but there was no need to worry about that. Not because Felicia was there… but as soon as he entered the school building, something came to mind.
“Second Year, Class 8,” certainly, it was the class Soma had once belonged to, and it seems to be the case for her as well. There was no evidence, but there was such a conviction.
Wondering what the situation really was, he headed to the top floor of the four-story school building. Beyond the top of the stairs, the back on the right-hand side was that classroom. Confirming unmistakably from the plaque above the classroom door, and upon entering, there were naturally students wearing the same uniform as themselves.
As Soma stepped into the classroom while subtly checking around, his movement momentarily stopped when he found a familiar figure there. It seemed that person also noticed him almost simultaneously and raised a hand in greeting.

The one who was slumping over the desk and displaying a distinctly unmotivated appearance was Iori Kanzaki. Though he tilted his head slightly, he recalled they were in the same class in their second year. Well, it was unclear how much that matters in the current situation.
After all, just by glancing around the classroom, there were no other familiar faces besides Iori., That was the case in both current and the previous life. While he couldn’t be claimed that he remembered the faces of classmates from decades ago… he doubted whether there was any point in thinking about it.
“Iori-san is as usual.” (Felicia)

Thinking such things, Soma moved to the back by the window. That was Soma’s seat. By the way, Felicia was in front of him, and Iori was right in the middle. When was it that he said that position doesn’t attract much attention, after all?

Arriving at his seat with aimless thoughts, he heard a voice saying, “Hm?”.
“Felicia, is something wrong?” (Soma)
“No… Wasn’t the seat next to Soma-san’s empty? I distinctly remember it being the only one empty…” (Felicia)

Feeling the bustle of the classroom behind him while losing in thought, the main bell rang. And almost simultaneously, the classroom door opened…
“Now then, the bell has already rung, you know? Come on, take your seats. If you dilly-dally too much, I’ll mark you absent, you hear?” (??)
Reflexively turning his gaze, Soma blinked several times. Admittedly, it wouldn’t be entirely truthful to say he hadn’t considered that possibility, but… honestly, it was unexpected. The person who seemed unmistakably like a teacher from those words and actions as that person entered the classroom was noticeably short in stature. The person could pass for an elementary schooler, but the aura was definitely that of an adult. Moreover, it was someone familiar. It was Camilla.
Well, she did work as a teacher at the school, but… it felt incredibly strange. But as if unaware of Soma’s confusion, Camilla continued speaking.
“Alright, is everyone in their seats? Then, roll call… well, never mind. I can tell everyone’s reluctant, and today is different from usual anyway.” (Camilla)
“Something different today? Uh, could it be… a transfer student is coming?” (Felicia)
“Oh? Sharp as ever, Felicia. Ah, is it because there’s a new seat added there? Well, let’s go with that.” (Camilla)
With Camilla affirming Felicia’s question, the classroom buzzed. Well, it was common in manga and such, but at least in his previous life, they had never welcomed a transfer student in high school. It was only natural for there to be a commotion over its rarity.
Iori seemed to be the only one disinterested, and while Felicia was asking questions herself, she seemed half skeptical as she turned back to him with a surprised expression. Shrugging in response, Soma turned his gaze forward again. Camilla was already indicating for the open door to be closed as she entered. Then, the figure that appeared from there… well, it was as expected. It was Aina who was wearing an unfamiliar uniform.
She seemed somewhat nervous, but that only lasted until she stood on the podium. Upon seeing her, Felia let out a small gasp, and Aina, in response, turned her face towards them. What widened her eyes was probably catching sight of Soma. Immediately after, a shout rang out.
“Ah! You! Aren’t you the one from earlier!?” (Aina)
“Hm? What, do you two know each other?” (Camilla)
With a puzzled expression from Camilla and shock evident on Aina and Felicia’s faces, it was almost laughable how everything was going as he predicted. Seemingly intending to stick to the usual cliché for now, Soma shrugged once again while thinking such things.
