Chapter 488 “His Wife?

Since Ling Yue herself was excluded from the representing group for Da Xia, it’s only natural that she wouldn’t be privy to this news since no invitation was ever sent to her. As a result, she was now left in a bind, unsure whether or not to leave or to go inside the study room.
“Teacher, just return the invitation,” Feng Shen flatly refuses it.
“But Young Master, His Majesty and the Sacred Maiden….” Mr. Mu sounds troubled by his lord’s childish behavior.
“I just don’t want to go,” the boy insists, refusing to budge.
Towards this version of the boy, Ling Yue was honestly quite astonished by it. She’s never seen him in this form. In her view, Feng Shen was always the calm and stable type who would never change in front of turmoil or pain. That she has seen firsthand, not this childish version which seems to be unusually captivating to the ear and eye still.
“Just say I am unwell.” Helplessly turning his head aside, Feng Shen had long noticed the girl hiding outside. As a such, it swiftly gave hint to Mr. Mu to this fact as well by the way he moved.
“Oh good Miss Ye, my lord here was just saying he’s unwell. Could you please come take a look at him?”
Knowing she’s been caught, Ling Yue immediately showed herself in to stand before the two. Squinting her eyes at the mentioned person, “I think your family’s lord is looking quite good, hardly the face of someone sick.”
“But I am sick, very badly too. The physicians said I am suffering from stuffiness and needs to go out for a stroll in order to cure it.” Revealing a smile so mischievous that his teethes were showing, the lad was truly angelic in how memorizing he appears.

Soon after the willful incident inside the study room was concluded, two familiar figures were seen leaving from the back entrance – one being full of smiles while the other was wrapped up like a dumping on the face.
“Ling Yue, I will take you to the night market in the city.” When Feng Shen made a grab for the girl’s hand there, Ling Yue still couldn’t help but want to retract it. She’s just not used to being so intimate with something out of the blue.
This guy…. Did he get addicted to holding my hands or something?
But the boy’s reaction wasn’t slow either. Knowing what she wanted to do, he firmly tightens his grasp around that dainty hand until there’s no room for escape.
“I heard that the night market in Di Shing City is very lively. In order to avoid losing each other, it’s best we keep our hands together don’t you think?”
As one of the few super-large capital cities on the continent, the level of liveliness during the night here was in no way inferior to the daytime. Just that, though the boy said he would take her out for a stroll, it’s more like Ling Yue taking him out instead considering how enthusiastic he was along the streets.
“You never came to the night market before, did you?” Though the girl only asked this out of casualty, but she could already tell what the answer would be.
Back during the afternoon when she was cleaning up her room, Ling Yue had accidentally come across an old lady by the name of Granny Zhang and that she was the nanny of the former mistress of the House.
Through her mouth, Ling Yue learned a lot of things about the boy.

“Rouge (makeup), high quality rouge, only exclusive to Di Shing City.”
Girls are going to girls; Ling Yue was no different. Halting her feet until its stagnant in front of the makeup shop, her eyes couldn’t help but look inside at the contents.
There are plenty of things on show, from makeup powder to trinkets, it’s like the go-to-store for any females who likes to fashion themselves up. What’s more, the varieties are leagues ahead of what the shops in Da Xia’s capital had!
Ling Yue herself rarely ever used makeup, especially rouge for her lips, but her sister Lan Caier did specifically mention that she wanted some due to its vibrant color choices here in North Qing.
Originally the girl herself had intended to just skip it after thinking back on how the three just ditched her earlier, but the shop lady was a keen one. Seeing a possible customer standing in front of her shop, there’s no way Ling Yue could escape.
“Guests, these are the rouges that just arrived at our shop today, even the palace doesn’t have it yet. Do you want to buy your wife there some? I guarantee it won’t disappoint.” Bringing a couple of boxes out to show, it’s like a treasure trove flashing right before their eyes.
Naturally Ling Yue wouldn’t miss what this shop lady was trying to do. Greatly blushing with embarrassment, Who is his wife. Besides, I’m already wrapped up like a dumpling, how can I use these rouges to begin with.
However, Feng Shen on the other hand was taking that compliment extremely well, especially when the word “wife” was brought up. From an already smiling face, the boy was practically glowing now in how vibrantly moving that grin was.
“Okay, we will take those boxes you have there.”
Now talk of being overjoyed. Seeing the business was in her bag now, the shop lady was just ready to help Ling Yue try out the rouges when she became stunned by what she saw. The lady apparently didn’t realize how badly bandaged up the girl was until now due to the dim lighting in the streets.
Then just when she wanted to question the boy as well by looking over, the shop lady literally skipped a beat at the Feng Shen’s face, Oh my, after living for so many years, I never seen such a good-looking boy before. How can such a person marry such an ugly woman?
“Feng Shen, if you want to try then you can go ahead. My injury is still not healed yet.” Ling Yue could already tell what the shop lady was thinking from the way those eyes were reacting. As such, her mood instantly turned sour with annoyance in that voice.
Although she has long known that Feng Shen’s face was what you call a calamity class level, but to have someone openly direct rejection at her own face was definitely a first here.
Maybe it’s the unhappiness in her heart, or just the grouchiness of being wrapped up like a dumpling, but Ling Yue’s naughty side was starting to show. In her head, she just had the evil idea of crossdressing the boy up into a girl, and considering how pristinely white that skin was, it’s definitely up on par with Bo Qing’s seductive look way back at the Tai Yi School venture.
“Shop lady, let him try it instead.” Picking up a box, she didn’t even ask for permission when trying to smudge it on the boy’s face.
Naturally Feng Shen himself would want to duck for cover, but with such a big crowd around them due to the busy street, it didn’t take much for him to be smeared on the face by those naughty fingers.
However, busy crowds also have its advantages. In the next second after their playful antic, someone from behind that’s also carrying a couple of boxes of rouges had bumped into Ling Yue, causing her to tip forward and crash right into the boy’s chest. Together at last, the mood just got all dreamy under the dim lantern light.
As stiff as the contact was, Ling Yue wasn’t going to get out of this now when its she who threw herself at him.
“Shop lady, I am sorry that we knocked over your things. I will take all of your products here in the shop. Just go to the Phoenix Manor and seek out Mr. Mu for the money.”
Likely afraid his woman would be pushed over again, Feng Shen hurries to squeeze through the people using his hand as a shield.
