That last bit was a very serious accusation!

The furious empress dowager immediately calmed down. “Was it Junjun?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.” Granny Gong nodded.
All anger disappeared from the old lady’s face, and she waved her hand. “I’m sure Junjun had his reasons. So be it. It’s no big deal.”
Granny Gong was speechless.
She was already used to the empress dowager’s behavior, so she wasn’t surprised by her reaction. The others around the old lady were even more used to it, and no one looked the least bit disturbed.
“So, are you here because something happened to the crown prince?” The empress dowager looked at Granny Gong.
Granny Gong immediately said, “His Royal Highness is late and hasn’t arrived yet, so His Majesty is displeased…”

With Granny Lan at her elbow, the empress dowager left her carriage and headed for Emperor Wu’s.
