After the doctor left, she recounted her conversation to Jonathan.
Jonathan nodded in acknowledgment.
His gaze then landed on Stanley. “You're lucky enough to survive, kid. You should thank your lucky
stars that this is a lawful society. Otherwise, I would've ended your life without hesitation.”
Without saying anything, Stanley met Jonathan's gaze calmly. He showed no signs of being afraid.
After all, he was prepared to die.
The so-called revenge he had clung to for more than ten years had been nothing more than a huge lie.
It had all been a colossal joke.
Everything he had done to the Riverses for the past decade or so had been in vain. Recently, his
