‘He is the best, but Beatrice— you have other mates too. I am not asking you to accept Zane, but you

‘I am sure you wanted to talk about the other mate of mine, but okay,’ I rolled my eyes at her attempts
to conceal Helel’s name when I knew this whole conversation was actually about him.

But don’t you think he did it because he was afraid of upsetting you?’ She questioned me, and I scoffed
at her. I don’t know why she’s bringing it up now.

‘Ace! What happened, happened. He has a baby on the way. And I am too happy with Akin to ruin
anything,’ I replied to her in all honesty, not trying to dismiss her feelings.

“I have made a decision. I will leave this place the instant Gwen gives birth to our baby,” Helel uttered
from behind me, startling me. I didn’t even realize he had come into the kitchen, but it was his
statement that stunned me the most.

“I cannot see you with him, Bea,” he confessed once I had turned around and faced him.
