Chapter 31 Dad, I Want Mom

Seeing the name of Lois on the screen, Joey angrily threw the phone aside.

Maggie had been crying since she left the hospital. Joey thought that she would be better and stop
crying so hard without him. However, none of the servants was useful. They made the child cry so hard
even passed out.

When he came back and went upstairs, he found that Maggie's face was red and the temperature was
so high. He called the family doctor of the old house in a hurry. When Lois called, Joey was looking at
the doctor who was giving Maggie an injection.

In particular, the little girl had a high fever and was still in a coma. Her physiological reaction hadn't
gone down yet. She twitched two times from time to time, which made people feel sorry for her.

"Mom..."Maggie's hoarse and crying voice almost drove Joey crazy!

Joey looked at the ringing phone irritably again. This woman was so annoying!

Noticing his displeasure, Lois cautiously asked, "Joey, where is Maggie?"

The servant noticed the coldness in Joey's' eyes and lowered her head.

Lois was in a daze. The sound from the other end of the phone echoed in the ward, "the child will

There was only one child in Gu Family, and that was Maggie.

She asked anxiously, "is Maggie sick? What happened to her? Joey, how is she? "

What happened to Maggie! is she having a fever? "

father? You should see how you being a mother! "

the doctor out. The doctor tidied up his things and followed the servant downstairs.

Looking at Maggie's red and swollen eyes from a distance, Joey asked coldly, "what else do you want
to say?"

Lois kept silent.

Listening to the faint breath on the phone, Joey remembered the question she asked when she got
along with Maggie in the afternoon. Thinking that she couldn't wait to take the child away from him, he
was very angry.

Joey didn't show any politeness and said in a deep voice, "you know why Maggie is sick this time. You
irritated her to cry and make it worse. How dare you question me?"

However, Lois thought of Sally. Their marriage had come to an end. If she couldn't take Maggie away,
Sally would cut in. No matter whether Joey loved Maggie or not, Sally wouldn't let go of her child easily.

Ignoring Joey's accusation, Lois went straight to the point, "Maggie won't grow up happily with you!"



I know that she will only cry if she follows you! Joey didn't say that. He laughed angrily and said, "I think
it's necessary for you to go to the neurology department. Don't bother me anymore!"

Joey tried her best to suppress the anger in his heart. He walked slowly to the bed. The little girl's face
had faded away from red and turned pale, and his thin cherry lips were bloodless.

He sat on the bed slowly, brushed away the hair on her forehead and gently pinched the little girl's face.

He really regretted what he had done for so many years. He didn't care about them, so Lois quarreled
with him like this. He didn't take good care of them, so his daughter never took the initiative to get close
to him

He watched Lois pinching Maggie's little face. He was anxious and pitiful. They were in a good
relationship and Lois taught the child well, so he was full of happiness. But they never mentioned him
voluntarily. He couldn't get involved in the topic between them, just like an outsider.

He hung up the phone not because he was angry, but because he was afraid. He had never tried to
please women. The most he did to her was not to mock or refuse. He no longer wanted to let himself
say something bad that made her heart ache.



And he didn't want to make the relationship between the three of them more and more stiff. If Lois was
willing to come back, he would never go out to flirt with women, nor engage in social activities at night.
He would not get drunk and come back late to make her worried

Joey stayed in front of the bed for a whole night. During this period, when the servants cooled Maggie's
body, Joey sat aside and watched.

He didn't want to admit, but he had to admit that during the absence of Lois, Maggie had lost weight.
Although the baby fat on her face was still so soft, her body was thinner.

When Maggie woke up, it was already the next morning. She opened her eyes and looked at her father
sitting at the bedside.

expression, he rubbed Maggie's soft hair and said, "Maggie, don't make dad worry about you like this in

The little girl reached out her hands to hold Joey's big hands, and begged with red eyes, "Dad, I want
mom..."

As expected, Maggie finished her meal obediently and waited for her father to keep his promise.

exception.

It was luxuriously decorated, with various dishes and a partner of handsome men and beautiful women.



Joey was still alone. He walked past the guests casually. Most of them were the employees of the
