Chapter 8: The Theory of Lion and Dog

Bai Aoxue had already felt the different eyes, half probing and half joking.
She frowned in displeasure while looking around with composure.
A sharp-eyed waiter came over, guiding Bai Aoxue and Mumian into a private room respectfully
The eyes following her closely vanished instantly like they had never existed before when Bai Aoxue was going to check it carefully.
Then a trouble came, so she had to let go of the guard and doubt in her heart.
“Oh. I’ve been thinking who it is. It is Bai Aoxue, the well-known daughter of the prime minister and his official wife.” There was a sharp, vitriolic voice from behind her back.
Upon hearing it, those eating in the restaurant began to whisper and occasionally pointed at Bai Aoxue.
Bai Aoxue frowned slightly. Ignoring it, she said to Mumian in a light voice: “Mumian. Ignore it. Let’s go.”
“But, Miss… You…” Mumian looked at Bai Aoxue with unwillingness.
Bai Aoxue said with a proud smile: “Mumian. I’ll tell you an axiom today. The lion would never turn back because of a dog’s barking. Do you want to be a lion or a barking dog?”
Of course, Mumian knew what Bai Aoxue meant. She responded at once: “My Miss, I’m a lion, not a barking dog.”
Bai Aoxue nodded her satisfaction upon hearing the words, like Mumian was worthy of being taught.
“You, the lowly slave. Who are you talking about?” The lady behind Bai Aoxue lost her composure and yelled sharply.
Hearing that she was scolding Mumian, Bao Aoxue’s eyes got cold.
Turning around at once, Bai Aoxue looked at the lady and said: “Pan Shuangshuang. I don’t want to argue with you originally. But you repeatedly arouse provocations. Do you think I remain silent because I’m afraid of you? Today I’ll let you know what kind of person you cannot afford to offend in your life time.”
Pan Shuangshuang looked at her and thought she was different from the girl she often humiliated in the past.
Although surprised, Pan Shuangshuang said without thinking further: “What? Do you want to fight back? How about lending you ten people’s guts? Who do you think you are, bitch?”
Pan Shuangshuang was sick of Bai Aoxue. Her father was the six minister who ranked below Bai Aoxue’s father. As the daughter of the prime minister and his official wife, Bai Aoxue was a cowardly girl. Thinking that she was inferior to Bai Aoxue, she was getting more and more indignant.
Bai Aoxue’s coward played directly into the hands of Pan Shuangshuang. Bullying Bai Aoxue gave her satisfaction in her heart.
Seeing Pan Shuangshuang’s arrogant posture like a peacock, Bai Aoxue expressed no opinion and smiled. She said: “I needn’t your guts. You are right. You and I are never in the same class. I didn’t retaliate against you for bullying me because I despised you. Now, I still despise you. Today I’ll revenge myself on the previous humiliation from you.”
Then Bai Aoxue suddenly came to Pan Shuangshuang and slapped her heavily on the face.
The slaps echoed through the Drunken Moon.
It seemed that the slaps were struck on everyone’s apex of heart. They shook they shoulders with the slaps.
Before the people recovered themselves, Bai Aoxue moved over to Mumian. She began to clean her hand with the handkerchief handed over by Mumian. As she cleaned the hand, Bai Aoxue said: “You have dirtied my hand, Pan Shuangshuang. Don’t think I’m the soft persimmon which you can push around as you like. This is a slight punishment. If you want to get some slaps again in the future, anytime!”
Hearing it, those who were watching the scene of bustle recovered themselves downright.
Glancing at Bai Aoxue in surprise, and then glancing at confounded Pan Shuangshuang, everybody thought it was a dream.
With her hands covering the inflamed face, Pan Shuangshuang shrieked because of pain. Few people could match Bai Aoxue’s strength.
When Bai Aoxue slapped Pan Shuangshuang on the face, she finely manipulated the strength. She didn’t match her name Bai Aoxue if Pan Shuangshuang’s face didn’t be swollen for ten days.
Pan Shuangshuang felt a rending pain on her face, so she had no vigor to care about Bai Aoxue.
Pan Shuangshuang’s face, which wasn’t pleasing originally, became more distorted out of the pain. People inside the restaurant all turned their head away from Pan Shuangshuang then.
Looking at Pan Shuangshuang who was in a terrible condition, Bai Aoxue said: “If you want to retaliate, just come to me. But I cannot guarantee I would treat you in a tender manner as I do this time.” Then she went into the private room with Mumian.
