Bai Aoxue didn’t make any reply because she believed Jun Yeyan would let her go. Bai Aoxue sneered at the last sentence Jun Yeyan said and didn’t reply.
Not everything was possible also nothing was impossible.
And she was the one who lived on the sideline. She would grasp even a straw at the critical moment.
Another man stood beside Jun Yeyan as Bai Aoxue disappeared into the darkness.
“Yan, she grew up under mistreatment in the prime minister’s family. Perhaps she has an intense hatred against her family. You are careless this time. I’m sure she wouldn’t make a sacrifice for her family. Bai Aoxue is hard to deal with.” The man was that handsome young man in Drunken Moon Restaurant.
He was Nalan Youhong, the only son of Nalan family, as well as the heir to the family property.
Jun Yeyan didn’t make a reply immediately, but his complacent smile revealed his state of mind.
“I’m a bit curious. How did she penetrate into my heavily guarded palace without being trapped by the automatic devices or being discovered by the sentinels?” Jun Yeyan was more interested in Bai Aoxue.
The emergence of a prey excited him, and he broke into a rare smile as result of the better mood.
“Perhaps the sentinels are too tired because more assassins penetrated into the palace recently. They didn’t discover her when she slipped in.”
Nalan Youhong didn’t believe that Bai Aoxue had the power to penetrate into the palace without being discovered by the sentinels or triggering the booby traps.
Jun Yeyan neither refuted nor agreed with what Nalan Youhong said.

Bai Aoxue approached the garden of jacaranda again. She liked the garden more and more.
The cluster of flowers had suffocating beauty.
Bai Aoxue didn’t linger in the beautiful scene. She easily jumped over the high wall and disappeared into the darkness.
As for Jun Yeyan, although she thought about that, it was all illusion at first.
But when it was all true. And she might be a political sacrifice, Bai Aoxue had to fight back.
She was never a lamb to the slaughter. She was a lonely wolf who was cruel to anybody and anything that might pose a danger to her.
She changed the clothes after returning to her courtyard in the prime minister’s mansion. Then she opened the door, putting on a sleepy appearance.
“Mumian! Where are you?”
There was no response.
Bai Aoxue quickly walked to the door of Mumian’s room, saying, “Mumian! Are you in? I’m going in.”
Mumian’s voice came over discontinuously from inside: “Miss, what’s…wrong? I fell asleep just now.”
Bai Aoxue heard that Mumian was sleeping. Although Bai Aoxue had an ominous presentiment, she didn’t want to disturb her maidservant.
“Ouch…” Bai Aoxue heard a groan in pain before going away. She didn’t hesitate. She forcefully pushed the door open and went inside.
“Mumian, What’s wrong? Are you ill?” Bai Aoxue walked to Mumian quickly and asked.
It was too late for Mumian to stop Bai Aoxue.
Mumian got up from bed. She dropped her head, murmuring: “Miss, I’m fine. I caught a cold today. Don’t worry! I’m strong.”
Looking at her maidservant who still dropped the head, Bai Aoxue knew what happened.
Bai Aoxue didn’t see Mumian’s face because it was dark inside the room.
Bai Aoxue said in a low voice, “Come with me. I’ll get some medicine for you. If you are ill, my heart will ache for you too.”
Mumian was a bit reluctant to go out with Bai Aoxue. She said in a hurry: “Miss, I’m OK. I had a bowl of ginger soup just now. It will be fine after I have some rest.”
“Listen, Mumian! Come with me. Please!” She said in a commanding tone.
Mumian didn’t dilly-dally anymore. She walked slowly behind Bai Aoxue. They went out of the door into the main yard. Bai Aoxue stopped. And Mumian stopped too.
“Raise your head!” Bai Aoxue said, looking at Mumian in the eye.
“Miss, my face is swollen because of cold. I don’t dare to raise my head because I’m afraid I would scare you,” Mumian said in a hesitating voice.
Bai Aoxue bit the lips upon hearing what Mumian said.
“I was ill before. I have seen my ugly face before. Raise your head! I don’t like to repeat the third time,”
There was a touch of authority in Bai Aoxue’s voice.
Mumian was frightened and raised her head.
Her bright eyes were full of tears because of humiliation and anger. The originally pink white face was now swollen beyond recognition.
Bai Aoxue was furious.
“Who did it?”
She lost her usual composure, her eyes burning with bloodthirsty anger.
