No one would have thought the young man before him would whip out his phone and snap a picture of
Frieda while she was playing by the fish pond.

“What are you doing? Why did you take a picture of her?”

headed to the playground to look for the children and Sabrina.

and looked at the back door.

What was even scarier was that he realized Frieda, who had been sitting near the door was missing. Her
seat was empty.

His face turned pale. He quickly climbed out of the car and came to the front seat before asking,
“Where’s Frieda? Where did she go?”

Meanwhile, back at Hayes Corporation. When the news reached Sebastian, he was still in the middle of
a meeting. He asked frantically when he heard the shocking news, “What did you say? Say it again?”

Luke immediately handed over the phone to Sebastian.

“Hello? Sebastian, listen to me. I… We didn’t mean for this to happen, but we were hit by a car from
behind. And before we knew it, your mother was gone.”

Sabrina, who rarely panicked, could be heard sobbing over the phone when she relayed the message.

Sebastian’s eyes widened in shock.

He stood up so fast that his chair fell over with a thud. With a grim expression on his face, he strode out
of the meeting room.

Those who were in the meeting room were left speechless.

What on earth happened? How could something so frightening happen all of a sudden?

Ten minutes later, Sebastian arrived at the scene.

As soon as Sebastian arrived, he emitted an air of murderous aura that made everyone at the scene felt
uncomfortable. Even the policemen held their breaths in his presence.

“I’m sorry, Sebastian. This is all my fault. This wouldn’t happen if I did not take your mother out for some
fresh air.”

When Rufus saw Sebastian coming, he hurried over and hastened to apologize.

Although Sebastian was fuming, he stopped his father-in-law from saying any more.

“This has nothing to do with you. Has this been investigated?”



“Yes. After checking the dashcam footage, we found out that after we were hit from behind, someone
opened the car door in the midst of the chaos and kidnapped your mother.”

Rufus quickly updated him on the findings of the investigation.

He was the one who prompted the police to investigate by watching the footage. After all, he knew about
these things since he was once the owner of a large company.

“Who did this? Don’t they know who you are?”

Avenport knows about her identity. Besides, everyone knows that this is your family car.”

Rufus pointed to the car’s license plate.

Sebastian went silent after hearing that. Then, he approached the policemen with hostility.

“Who did this?”

“We’ve already checked the footage, Mr. Hayes. That man was wearing a mask and a helmet, and that
makes it impossible for us to identify him. Please give us more time to look into this case.”

The police stammered as he explained to Sebastian and requested the latter to give them more time to
investigate.

Sebastian refused to believe that heap of rubbish the police were feeding him. He turned and left after he
