Not Your Younger Brother

Vivian’s eyes were red-rimmed as she walked out of the school while dragging her luggage behind her.

The security guard was surprised by the sight.

Even a pretty girl like her is crying? Looks like that kid, Kurt, is really a terrible person. Usually, when the
girls in school went looking for him, they’d always end up crying because he ignored them. And now, the
same thing is happening to a pretty girl like her?

He was a little furious.

Just as he was about to stand up for her, a teenager dressed in a blue hoodie rushed out. Seeing Vivian
was about to leave the school compound, he rushed over and grabbed her hand.



“You… Let go of me!” Vivian was actually delighted to see him when she turned around.

However, as soon as she recalled the cold and rude treatment given by Kurt a while ago, she became
upset again and tried to make him loosen his grip furiously.



This time, Kurt was not going to let go of her.

Vivian was speechless.

on. I’ll buy you a strawberry cake and a milkshake.”

That was how he was.



He would always get angry for no reason, yet he would apologize to her easily. No matter who was the
one in the wrong, he would immediately apologize and cajole her whenever she got angry.

In the end, Vivian complied.

After that, both of them took a taxi and headed for Old Town to enjoy Vivian’s favorite strawberry cake
and milkshake.

“Oh, and I want two more glasses of milkshake!” Vivian said to the shop owner.

She was really a glutton.

Before they even began eating, she was already worried about not having enough. Thus, she stood in
front of the shop owner, drooling and revealing two slender fingers to emphasize her words.

The shop owner was quite delighted to see such a pretty girl.

Hence, she served them two big portions.

“Here you go. Does your boyfriend want anything?” the shop owner suddenly asked.

In that era, it was normal for teens to have feelings for each other during their adolescence. From the
shop owner’s point of view, Vivian looked beautiful and charming, while the boy looked a little fragile.

However, he had a calm and steady demeanor, which did not make him look like a child.

That was why she asked that question.

Nonetheless, as soon as she said those words, the girl in front of her blushed and quickly denied, “No,
no. Ma’am, he’s my little brother, not my boyfriend.”



The shop owner was at a loss for words, and so was Kurt, who stood behind her and was about to pay
for the food.

His beautiful, fair-skinned face darkened, and his dark eyes became emotionless.

A few minutes later, Vivian left the store with a cup of milkshake in her hands while the boy behind her
held her strawberry cake. He finally could not hold it in and said, “Vivi, I’m not your younger brother.”

“Huh?” The girl, who was drinking her milkshake, turned around instantly.

Not my younger brother? Then what is he?

Her pretty eyes stared blankly at the teenager who was taller than her. “But you’re younger than me.”

“That still doesn’t mean I’m your younger brother. Come on. Let’s go. Time to go home.” Feeling angry
again, he held her wrist and started walking home.

Vivian felt miserable.

What’s wrong with being my little brother? Isn’t it great? I don’t have a younger brother, anyway.

Despite that, she had no choice but to follow after him while eating her food at the same time.

At first, she thought he was going to make her go home.

To her surprise, once they returned to the school, he packed a few things from his dorm and walked out
with a canvas bag that was discolored from countless washes.

What’s he doing?

Vivian blinked her big, shiny eyes and asked Kurt, “What are you doing?”

Kurt said stoically, “Sending you home.”

Vivian was utterly stunned.

It was not until she boarded a taxi that she finally came to her senses. She then quickly looked at the boy
beside her. “Hold on. Your classes are still going on. What are you going to do about them if you’re
sending me back?”

“Just ignore it.” Kurt leaned over to help her buckle the seat belt in a calm manner.

Vivian was speechless.

As she lowered her head, she noticed how close he was to her, to the point where she could see the
thick lashes on his eyelids. In the end, her face reddened.

Soon, both of them headed to the airport to fly to Jadeborough.

Since Vivian’s parents were on the mountain and her two elder brothers were not on holiday, she
suggested heading to the mountain to look for her parents as soon as she arrived.

Hearing that, Kurt hesitated for a moment. However, he still entered the car with her.

Two hours later, they finally arrived at Aquene Temple.

Midsummer was the most quiet and peaceful time for the temple.

The lush mountain was relatively less crowded due to the hot weather. All that could be heard in the
forest was the sound of nature. Apart from the hot mountain breeze, the entire journey to the
mountaintop seemed like they were entering a paradise that was separated from the world.

Meanwhile, Vivian was feeling excited since she was going to meet her parents soon.



However, as soon as she remembered that her father was still unconscious, she could not help but feel
upset. Hence, as they were approaching the temple, her active behavior was gradually replaced by
silence.

At the same time, Kurt, who sat beside her, had noticed it all. However, he did not say anything and
stayed by her side.

About ten minutes later, they finally arrived at the temple.
