“Despicable!” Liu Qingcheng roared. “How dare you use a charm!”
“It’s not illegal, is it?” Hua Musang laughed.
Even though the fight was beyond Hua Musang’s expectations, she was still relieved that she’d bought the charm for Hua Cuican. With the charm and Hua Cuican’s attack power, Hua Cuican could definitely defeat Ye Mo.
“Don’t worry, Elder Liu,” both Qing Qing and Mu’er spoke at the same time. “Ye Mo has the same charm with him!”
Cai Ling remained silent as she watched Ye Mo’s reaction.
Ye Mo looked at the charm and smiled bitterly. He’d never thought that Hua Cuican would try to use his own charm against him.
There was a rule among the Charm Masters: charms could never hurt their maker.
It was impossible since creating a charm meant subduing the energy that was used to make it.
Ye Mo looked at the charm and began to charge towards Hua Cuican, ignoring the charm in her hand.
“This is the Heavenly Frost Charm!” Hua Cuican shouted. “Prepare to die!”
Hua Cuican swung her sword as she threw the charm forward. Petals began to form a huge energy sword again.
The Heavenly Frost Charm exploded as cold air formed a tornado. Ice began to form inside the cave as fog covered it. Yet Ye Mo charged straight into the tornado and punched the energy sword.
“Has he gone insane?” one of the spectators shouted. “He ran straight into the middle of the fog where the power of the charm is the strongest! Is he not worried that he will be torn to shreds by the tornado?”
“Even I can feel the air freezing up here as if it is trying to freeze my blood! This definitely is a powerful charm!” the other said.
“Does Ye Mo have the same charm?” one asked. “Why did he charge straight into the tornado?”
“Could it be that he’s confident that he will somehow come out unharmed?”
The spectators were stunned by the fact that Ye Mo charged straight into the tornado. The next scene they saw would forever be carved into their memories. As soon as Ye Mo came in touch with the tornado, a barrier formed around Ye Mo, repelling every damage that would have hit him.
Just a punch from Ye Mo turned Hua Cuican’s energy sword into dust.
Before Hua Cuican could even react, Ye Mo was already standing beside her.
“You really have the nerve to attack me with the charm I created, huh?” Ye Mo laughed as he picked Hua Cuican up. “Do you think it’ll be that easy?”
Ye Mo had used up all of his energy, and without it, he was just an average person. Yet without his energy, he could still pick Hua Cuican up with one hand, and it made Hua Cuican tremble in fear.
The spectators finally regained their composure after the tornado had died down.
“He was the one who created that charm?” Hua Musang said as she looked at Ye Mo in awe.
But there was no other explanation. Only its creator would not fear its effect! Hua Musang thought. How strong can this kid be? Hua Cuican could defeat most of the warriors in Women City, and yet he defeated her by countering every attack she made.
“Impossible!” some of the warriors from the Hua Fraction shouted.
The Hua Fraction came to the match believing that Hua Cuican would win the fight without giving her opponents any chance to attack. They thought they could take over the Women City.
Yet, in reality, it was the opposite. Hua Cuican’s trump card, the Heavenly Frost Charm, was actually made by Ye Mo.
They had not expected any of the events that werowe n unfolding in front of their eyes.
In their eyes, Ye Mo was already a monster who, as a Spirit Cultivating Seventh Realm warrior, could counter every attack that an Energy Shaping Second Realm warrior dealt.
Even warriors from the Liu Fraction were in shock too. They thought that Ye Mo had used his full power when he fought Qing Qing and Mu’er, but that wasn’t the case. Ye Mo was much stronger than that.
“This is not possible!” Hua Cuican shouted as she hung in Ye Mo’s hand. “How could I lose?”
“That’s the reality. It’s not that you’re weak, it’s just that I’m stronger than you,” Ye Mo said and loosened his grip. “Seniors of the Hua Fraction, now that I’ve won, your fraction has no hope of taking over the Women City anymore.”
Hua Musang looked at Ye Mo with a dark expression on her face as anger began to build inside her. But just as she was about to attack Ye Mo, she could feel her blood boiling as her face began to twist.
“Im… impossible!” Hua Musang said with a shaky voice. “The effect of the Goddess’s Essence?”
“Did you really think the legend was fake?” Cai Ling said coldly. “The Goddess’s Essence is the eye of the Goddess. We’ve made an oath under her name. Going back against it means violating her will.”
The Goddess’s Will was the same as the Imperial Order; they were powers that governed the rules. The Goddess’s Will was even stronger than the Imperial Order.
Warriors from the Hua Fraction all fell to the ground as they trembled in fear.
“As the representative of the Liu Fraction, Ye Mo has won the fight,” Cai Ling announced. “According to the oath we’ve made to the Goddess, Ye Mo will now be our new City Lord!”
“New City Lord?” Ye Mo squeaked, looking at Cai Ling as the other warriors all kneeled in front of him.
“Yup, you’re now the City Lord of the Women City,” Cai Ling said.
Since they’ve drank the water from the Goddess’s Pond, no one dared to challenge Ye Mo.
“There’s no way I can take that position!” Ye Mo said as he shook his hands. “I think you should be the City Lord.”
“It’s true that it will be weird for a man to become the Women City’s lord, but we can’t go back on our words,” Liu Qingcheng said.
What Ye Mo had shown them was enough to prove that he had the talent to become their leader. Liu Qingcheng believed that in just a few years, a warrior that would leave his mark throughout history will be known to the entire world.
“Fine. Stand up, everyone,” Ye Mo said. “Even though you all had fought each other for this position, since all of you did it for the city, I’m willing to forgive each and everyone standing here today. I’ll also appoint Cai Ling as my second-in-command.”
