RILEY “I just don’t feel that I am ready to be a Luna just yet. Give me a little more time, Riley.” Her
words keep ringing in my head. I wanted to understand her, but a part of me felt that she didn’t want to
be officially a part of me. But I didn’t voice my concern. Maybe she just really needed time to get used
to everything.
So I tried my best to shove off any bad thoughts running in my head, especially the one telling me that
she didn’t want to stay here for good.
“Do you want more?
” Nadia asked, snapping me out of my thoughts, and my eyes darted to her, meeting her dark brown
eyes before I lowered my gaze to my plate.
I didn’t even notice she had been placing food on my plate.
“More…” I smiled at her and she obliged, placing more meat on my plate before covering it with sauce.
“Thank you,” I told her in a low voice, and she just smiled back at me before placing food on her plate.
Lady Katarina and Lady Sofia stayed for dinner, but my Gamma couple were not with us since it was
Gamma Sebastian’s mother’s birthday.
“Riley, we were wondering if you had an idea about Katarina’s claiming?
” My eyes squinted as I stared at Nadia, forcing the meat into my mouth as I waited for her to continue.
“What do you know about it?
” I shrugged my shoulders and answered nonchalantly.“Aeon would be claiming Katarina on the next Claiming.
That’s all I know.
” “Is there a way out?
” “I seriously have no idea.
I never dwell on the Claiming so I’m no use when it comes to that.
” “Why?
You’re an Alpha.
You didn’t even think of attending a Claiming if just in case you ended up not having a mate or a Luna?

I didn’t consider Alpha Females.
” “And why?
” Three mouths blurted out the same questions, and I couldn’t help but chuckle.

” I winked at Nadia before darting my eyes to the other females around the dining table.
“You both don’t need to know about it.
” My Beta chuckled before he asked Katarina a question.
“Are you having second thoughts?” “I actually didn’t want to.
” “Do you think you can help her?
” Nadia asked me, and I felt useless because I knew I couldn’t.
I shook my head, my lips pursing into a thin line.

This is between Katarina and Darvin.
And Aeon.
I don’t meddle with family affairs, especially of another Alpha.
” “Maybe your Beta can claim me.

” Katarina said, her eyes went to my Beta and my Beta’s mouth just dropped open.

” Sofia asked, her eyes widening as if she was too surprised, and I just watched her forehead crease
before her fork pointed at my Beta.
“He has a girlfriend.
You can’t just take someone’s boyfriend and claim it as yours.
” “Sofia!” Katarina exclaimed in a hushed tone.
“Don’t point your fork at someone.

” I laughed while my finger was moving in circles on my mate’s thigh under the table.
“My Beta doesn’t have a girlfriend.
” “He told me he has,” Sofia answered, her brows furrowing.

I didn’t know you couldn’t tell a joke from a real one.
” Dominic added, snickering in his seat.
“I’m finally convinced you’re a terrible person.
” Sofia sneered and I just shook my head at their exchange, my eyes staring at Nadia, who seemed to
be amazed looking at them.

” “Alpha Riley, did you know that the first time I met Beta Dominic, he told me he was Alpha Jacob?
And I believed him.
You should reconsider him for a Beta post.I think he’s just making up stories with everything.

” I answered in a calm tone, but I was doing my best not to laugh because I might offend Sofia.

And Katarina, please, choose someone else.
I don’t think the Beta can make you happy.

” My Beta replied, a playful smile plastered on his lips, and I was under the impression that he enjoyed
riling up Sofia’s anger.
“I’m desperate.
I don’t know how to tell Darvin I didn’t want this without putting him in a bad light.
” “Yeah, and then I’m next.
” “You too?
” “Yes, but I hope at least Darvin will give me a chance to choose who will claim me because I’m not
going on a blind Claiming.

” Nadia’s question took my attention away from my Beta and Sofia.
“I had no idea what agreement they had with Aeon’s pack, so I couldn’t really tell,” I answered my mate
before shifting my eyes to Katarina.
“But if anything, Aeon is a good man, Lady Katarina.
Maybe give him a chance, get to know him.
” “Well, that’s the problem.
I’ve been betrothed to this Alpha for more than six months now, but I haven’t seen him even once.
It’s either he looked scarv or he’s not interested in “I reckoned it was the latter,” Sofia said in a
nonchalant matter.
“Because I’ve heard from my friends that he’s good looking, as in hot, hot!
” “When are you turning eighteen?
” My Beta asked her.“Four months from now.
And why, should I expect a gift from you?
” He chuckled.
“Too bad, I was thinking since it looked like you’re smitten by Alpha Aeon, maybe you can take Lady
Katarina’s place on the Claiming but then you’re not eighteen yet by then.

” My brow raised as I listened to my Beta.
He made it sound like he was teasing the young female, but I could sense the annoyance in his voice.
I felt there was more than what he was trying to show.
And it seemed to me that the young lady had a crush on my Beta too, from the way she was stealing
glances at him.
If anything, it would be better if they ended up together, because I was sure that my Beta had no
chance with Jacob’s sister.
Three Days After.
NADIA I took my time descending the stairs because I was wearing a midthigh-length dress.
I would be having driving lessons with Riley and I know I should be wearing something comfortable, but
I wanted to look a little extra today, so I opted for a bright yellow sundress.
‘Are you alone in your office?’ I asked him through our mind link, just to make sure I wouldn’t be disturbing him if he had something
going on inside his office.
‘Yes.
Just come in.
’ He answered, and I didn’t reply anymore as I made my way to him.
I pushed the door open and my eyes found him sitting on his chair with a phone in his hand, and my
eyes rolled automatically, a smile forming on my lips as I walked towards him.
He put the phone down and just watched me approach him.
“Should I be offended that you’re still watching those even if you’re having s*x with me every day?
” He chuckled and pushed back his chair, opening his arms widely so I could take my place on his lap.
“I just need an extra tip for tonight.

A red tint started to creep on his cheeks and I found it adorable.

I was teasing him, but the moment the words came out of my mouth, I felt my slickness gushing out,

” He grunted, gritting his teeth, and I knew he was fighting for control.

I had chosen my biggest car, pushed the seat back, and adjusted the steering wheel to give us ample
space, just enough for her to sit comfortably on my lap.
It’s not really the best car to use for a beginner, but I had no intention of teaching her anything today.
I just wanted my hands on her.
“Well, you’ll be sitting there until you learn how to drive.
” “Riley!
How would I learn?
I don’t even know what I should do, or what to press here.
” “We’ll just play today.
I’ll take care of the pedals, which means acceleration and braking.
Just mind the steering wheel.

She spun her head around, her eyes widening as she stared at me.
“You’re not taking me seriously.
How would I learn anything if you’re just making me play with this?
” She tapped the steering wheel, and I couldn’t help but chuckle.“We can start the real lesson tomorrow.
And make sure you wear jeans.
If you wear another dress or skirt, you will end up in my lap again.
Now drive.
” I started the engine and let go of the brake pedal before pressing it again, jolting the car forward and
causing Nadia to panic in my lap.
“Wait!
” She let out a deep breath, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly.
“Okay, now I’m ready.
” A smile etched on my lips as I tapped her hand.
“Relax.
You don’t need to grip it hard.
” Her hold loosened, and I slowly pressed down on the accelerator and moved at a steady pace.
“Riley…” Her voice was soft, but it was laced with worries.
“Just straight ahead… You’re doing great.
” I whispered to her before I licked the space below her ear.
“Not fair!” She exclaimed, her body stiffening as she tried to hold the wheel steady while my hands grazed over
her thighs.
“Hmmm…” I started peppering her neck with soft kisses and I knew she was getting distracted already
