CHAPTER 44

CHAPTER 44OCEAN'S POV:-
I heard Vixen roaring loudly inside me. That woke me up. I sat up abruptly on the bed. I was catching
my breath and Moon also woke up. He sat up and started rubbing my back. He then filled a glass with
cold water and handed me the glass. I downed it's content in one go. My throat was dry. The cold water
helped me a bit.
Moon: Is everything okay, Ocean?
He asked me in a worried tone and I looked at him.
Ocean: I think something bad has happened to Alpha Zeus. I don't know what but something is wrong.
I can feel it. Because of Vixen, I can feel it.
I replied in a panicked tone and Moon shook his head.
Moon: I told him not to do anything stupid because of us. But he is a stubborn ass. He never listens.
He said in an angry tone. He hopped off of the bed and in a blink of an eye, he was in his clothes. I also
crawled out of the bed and wore my PJs along with my nightgown.
Once done, he grabbed my hand and we both stepped out of our bedroom. He took me straight to the
living room. I was not surprised at all when I saw Mr and Mrs Kart in the living room. Mrs Kart was
sobbing quietly and Mr Kart was trying hard to contact someone. I was sure he was trying to contact
Alpha Zeus.
I went to Moon's ma and hugged her. I rubbed her back as she cried her heart out. Moon went to Mr
Kart and hugged him. Mr Kart patted his back but I could say he felt better after seeing Moon.Maria: Why did he have to do that? Please tell me he will be back home soon. Please tell me he is
unharmed. Oh God, I can't live without my Zeus.
novelbinMaria was crying and whispering her prayers in my ear. I could not do anything to ease her pain. I just
kept rubbing her back.
Vixen growled inside my chest as my eyes glowed like stars. I hopped off of the couch and Vixen was
ready to leash out any minute. It was not a full moon. It was all because I could smell some strange
scents in our territory. My mate was already by my side as we always fought side by side. We were not
just mates in bed, but also in the battlefield.
We all heard a loud boom and suddenly, a bright light blinded us all. We all shut our eyes but Vixen
was ready for the fight. We all covered our ears as we heard ear piercing cries of the people who were
gathered around the mansion. The bright light subsided and the cries went silent. The doorbell rang
and Moon looked at us all.
I grabbed his hand and we both went to the door. To my surprise, Vixen was calm inside me. That
made me sure that whoever was at the door, would not be dangerous. Moon looked at me and I
nodded my head with a small smile. Signalling him that everything was fine. He opened the door and I
saw a woman standing.
Vivian: I was not expecting you to be here so early. What brought you here, Hellenora?
My mother asked in a sarcastic tone as she made her way towards the woman that was standing in
front of us.
Hellenora: I have made a promise. I am here to keep my side of the bargain.
She replied and my mother stared at her blankly.Vivian: Where is Alpha Zeus? What did you do to him?
My mother asked Hellenora and both Moon and I looked at her.
Hellenora: He is where he has to be. He had committed sins. And the time for his punishments has
come. He is on his way to his tests.
She replied and Moon gritted his teeth. I felt the same anger as Moon for Hellenora. Moon was about to
lunge at her but we all heard a growl. I knelt on the ground as I thought he had become the new Alpha.
I looked up and found everyone doing the same except for Moon and Vixen. It was strange. Because
Vixen always bowed inside me for the Alpha.
Derek: Tell me, he will be fine? His mother will not be fine until she will see him by her own eyes. At
least, you should have let him say goodbye. At least to his mother.
He asked Hellenora and she sighed. She stepped into the mansion and went straight to pa.
Hellenora: He has said his goodbyes to all of you. You will hear that soon. I can not help. It is his fate
that took him where he is right now.
She replied and patted Pa's shoulder. He nodded his head. He was trying hard but I could see the
reflection of his sadness and his broken heart into his eyes.
Derek: Why did he have to do that?
He asked and his voice was shaky. He was trying hard to keep everything in control. He knew if he
gave up, ma would lose herself.
Hellenora: It was time for him to pay for everything he had done. He did it to save you all. He did it all
for his brother, Moon and for Ocean as well. You need to understand that there is always a price to payfor our deeds.
She replied and I gritted my teeth hearing her. She was speaking like Alpha Zeus had done something
so bad that he deserved to be punished. I was worried about him. He was the Alpha. And if anything
happens to him, our territory would be in danger. First my evil father and then this Hellenora who took
my brother away.
Moon: Where is my brother?
Moon roared at Hellenora and I again bowed in respect. But this time, it happened on its own. And
Vixen's head was also bowed in respect. I did not understand why I was bowing. And that too in front of
Moon. Hellenora turned towards Moon and she as well knelt down on the ground. My mother gasped
as she saw Hellenora bowing in front of Moon. She also bowed and Moon frowned in confusion. I
looked at pa who also knelt in front of Moon. Ma also came and joined us all by kneeling down on the
ground. Hellenora looked up at Moon and smiled.
Hellenora: We all need your permission to stand up again, Alpha Moon.
She said and Moon's jaw dropped on the ground.
