He could see the blood being drawn away from his body bit by bit.

He could even hear the voices of Jared and Ashlyn outside, and it hurt him when he heard how strong
his woman sounded.

He would give anything in the world to run out to hug her tightly and tell her that she could lose the
tough front with him around.

Unfortunately, he could not.

The pain in his chest could not beat the pain he felt in his heart, especially after hearing Ashlyn
comforting Jared. He felt as if a sharp knife had cut through his heart.
