Chapter 54: 54) Panicked!

Florina's pov

It's been a week and it's feeling like a fucking hell. All my nights are full of tears and loneliness. I miss
their warmth, their touches, their scent, it's haunting my mind all day and night. I can't even look at
myself in the mirror I look like shit, I have got dark circles under my eyes. since last week I haven't ate
a perfect meal. I can't do it, I don't know why but without them it feels so empty.

"FLORA..."

Dad called me from the living room.

"COMING DAD..."

I replied while quickly putting concealer to hide the dark circles. I know whatever dad is doing is to
protect me, I can't blame him for not trusting them. He is dad after all. I don't want him to see me like
this, I will convince him... No matter how much time it takes...

Getting ready I head downstairs, new mayor of town has arranged a party for me where everyone
wanna thank me for my bravery. I should be happy but I can't, god! I was never this kind of miserable.

"You look beautiful, flora"

My dad looked at me proudly. He is praising me all these week for my work. I am lucky to have such a
loving father but__

"Let's go, shall we..."

He asked and I nodded with smile.



In the beginning people were shocked to see my father alive as they all were at his funeral, I am sure
dad has made up some story to shut their mouths. We are living in small town where everyone knows
about each other and dad was quite popular due to his friendly behavior.

We reached to the venue, the function is arranged in the famous park of town. I can see some smiling
and some jealous faces as we walked in.

"We are so proud of you my child..."

Aunt Claire hugged me, she is a family friend and a good Neighbor .

"Why didn't you tell everyone at that time, we would have helped you..."

She said and others nodded in agreement.

"I didn't wanted to cause you trouble, it was dangerous..."

I replied giving her small smile, I really don't want to socialize now. I just want to cuddle in my bed and
sleep, I am exhausted, mentally.

The clicking of glass caught our attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

Says the new mayor of town.

"Please give big round of applause to the hero of our town, Florina..."

Everything clapped for me. After few greetings and praising I excused myself from them.

"Florina..."



My boss... ex-boss walked towards me. Fucking bastard he was helping them too, but I don't have
proof against him.

"You did a fabulous job, when are you joining back. Our team has decided to promote you..."

He thinks I don't know that he was involved too.

"Okay..."

With that I walked away, I really have no energy to argue with him and create a scene.

I was sitting alone on the chair when Jenny approached me.

"Florina... God what you have done to yourself..."

She said looking at me, she knows everything.

"If you want I can talk to Johnathan..."

She said placing comforting hand on my shoulder.

"I will handle it..."

I mumbled.

"Florina, I have never seen you like this... What's different this time..."

She asked totally confused.

"Jenny I think I am in love..."

I confessed, I know it's just one month that we were staying together but that's what love is right? We
can't predict it or stop it from happening. it looks like Jenny is short of words.



"Umm... With two men?... May be you are confused between attraction and love..."

"I am not a teenage girl, Jenny... I know how attraction feels and how love... This never happened when
I was with jammy. It feels like I will die without them..."

"I understand... But do they love you. It's been a whole fucking week and they didn't even try to contact
you. If they care so much about you then they would have done something, right... Where are they?..."

She said quite mad.

"They care Jenny otherwise they wouldn't have hired one of the best assassin to save me... I know
they care, I have seen that pain in their eyes when I left them."

I know they Care.

"If you say so... I just don't want you to get hurt. I can't see you like this."

She sighed.

My phone rang and don't know why but I felt something weird in my heart when I saw Maria's name on
the screen.

"Hello?..."

I quickly received it.

"WHAT?!..."

I couldn't hear further as phone slipped down from my hand.

"What happened Florina?..."



I could hear Jenny's faint voice, everything feels frozen around me.

I was out of daze when Jenny shook me.

"I need to leave, now... He needs me"

I panicked.

"What, where?... Will you tell me what's happening..."

I didn't replied her as I grabbed my phone and purse and rushed out of the party.

Heading home I quickly changed and grabbed the car keys, My hands are shivering.

"Florina, where are you going... What happened..."

Dad asked grabbing my hand, he is panting heavily like he was running. Jenny must have informed
him.

"Dad, I know you love me and you always want the best for me... But I love them dad and he needs
me... I can't stay here..."

I broke down.

"Florina calm down... Sit here..."

He looked at me with concern looking at my panicked state.

"Will you tell me what happened?..."

"Vincenzo got shot... He is in critical condition. I have to go dad, please... Don't stop me. I know you
don't like this but I can't Stay here anymore knowing that he is in danger..."



I said as tears started flowing freely from my eyes.

"Okay fine... Fine. Anyway I was going to let you go. I can't see you like this. You have lost your
sparkle, I always want to see you happy. If staying with them is what you want then I won't stop you..."

I hugged him tightly.

"Thank you so much dad... I knew you will understand... I love you so much..."

"I love you too my child... Your happiness is all that matters..."

He patted my head.

"Go... But take maximus with you, I can't let you drive in this state..."

He said and I nodded, I am not sure if I can drive safely in this condition.

"Maximus can you please hurry up..."

I said panicked, my heart is sinking in my chest every second.

"Florina, this is the best I can drive... I don't want to die in fucking car accident..."

He said and I can understand I am nagging him the whole journey.

I hope Vincenzo is fine, I am trying to call Sebastian but he is not picking up the calls.

God! Please don't let happen anything to him, he has suffered enough.

Every second is feeling like an hour, it's been four hours that we are in the car.



I somewhat feel happy as I saw mansion coming in the view. Maximus finally pulled in front of the
mansion and I didn't waste a second before running inside. Even guards didn't bother to stop me.
