Lu Jia’er sounded natural but her expression suggested more serious thoughts. “Have you noticed anything?” Jin Xiangdong asked with a smile.
She raised her head and smiled at him. “No.”
Actually, at the moment, she could not quite describe it. Since she was not sure, she decided to not tell him for now.
That being said, Jin Xiangdong did detect something was off about her. Just when he was about to start speaking, his cell phone on the bed set off a notification alert.

It was a message from a stranger.
While not certain if the information was real or fake, when Jin Xiangdong, who usually could remain quite composed, felt a bit excited. “Jia’er, it’s about Su Han!”
As soon as Lu Jia’er heard this, she took over his phone immediately. When she had careful read the message, her frayed nerves were finally able to relax after several days. She could not help but burst into a smile. “Excellent!”
Then, Lu Jia’er called Xu Lei at once. The information she learned was that Su Han’s location was discovered and MSS was hurrying over to rescue her.
Once again, Lu Jia’er felt as though her heart was in her throat. Of course, compared with those days when there was no word, some news was better than no news.
“Deputy Xu, can you please follow up this matter?” Lu Jia’er asked.
She heard Xu Lei’s reply. “I have made a promise to you. I will keep tabs on this case for sure!”
“Thank you, Deputy Xu!” Lu Jia’er expressed her appreciation and sincerity.
After she hung up, Lu Jia’er put her palms together devoutly and prayed with all her heart, “I hope all is well with Su Han!”
When she was talking to Xu Lei on the phone, Jin Xiangdong had changed into a clean set of clothes. “Where is Su Han?” Jin Xiangdong asked as he walked over to her.
“Xu Lei said that they found her in an abandoned factory in the suburbs.” Lu Jia’er replied.
“So that means that Su Han has technically not been rescued yet?” Jin Xiangdong checked again.
“MSS has already headed out.” Lu Jia’er said.
Jin Xiangdong thought about this. “Is the information on the location reliable?”
“Xu Lei said that it was from reliable sources. Ace, let’s fly back tonight!” Lu Jia’er said.
“Go back tonight?” Jin Xiangdong looked at her.
“At the moment, we cannot figure out why Ian wanted us to come here. However, if we were to stay any longer, our whereabouts could be exposed. By then, I am afraid your father will be implicated.” Lu Jia’er said.
Jin Xiangdong had to consider this. “We don’t know what the situation in China is right now. Do you think it would be improper if we go back without carefully considering our options?”
“Since MSS is working on this case, I suppose the matter has something to do with the R&D team that created me. I would rather face them directly than avoid them so that we can find out who they are exactly.” Lu Jia’er had a different idea when it came to the situation.
“I agree with you. That being said, isn’t it possible that the R&D team is not in China?” Jin Xiangdong had other concerns.
“Yes, that is possible. That is all the more reason why we can no longer stay with your family!” Jia’er tried to convince him.
Naturally, Jin Xiangdong had thoughts about this as well. He nodded. “Okay. I will go and book the tickets.”
Then, Jin Xiangdong began the process of buying plane tickets on his phone. Right at that moment, out of nowhere, Lu Jia’er, who was standing next to Jin Xiangdong, blurted out, “Ace, I figured it out!”
Jin Xiangdong looked up at her. “What did you figure out?”
“I figured out why Ian lured us here.” Lu Jia’er explained.
Jin Xiangdong blinked in confusion as Lu Jia’er went on, “The oddest thing about coming to your home initially was that it seemed to be the least safe option, but in fact, it is the safest option.”
Jin Xiangdong blinked his eyes when he heard this. “What are you saying?”
“Apart from this, I cannot quite describe the other feelings. I just sense something is odd!” Lu Jia’er answered, “Maybe, at this moment, your family is being monitored all day.”

Sitting in the passenger side seat, Lu Jia’er held tight to the safety handle. Jin Xiangdong focused his attention on driving and he had demonstrated his excellent driving skills. Even so, they ended up being boxed in.
The cars stopped and the wind stopped blowing. Only their hearts were still pounding heavily.
The world fell quiet. Very quiet. So quiet that the sound of heartbeats could be heard.
The cars that surrounded them did not move at all. Everyone stopped as if they had come up to a red light.
The road was blocked. Jin Xiangdong kept his slim fingers on the steering wheel. Turning to Lu Jia’er, he asked her, “Do you trust me?”
Lu Jia’er looked back into his eyes. Trust was written in her eyes and from her expression, Lu Jia’er had already known his plan.
“I do trust you! But Ace, I don’t want you to take the risk!” Lu Jia’er added.
Jin Xiangdong did not want to give up this chance. “Hold on!”
“Ace!” Lu Jia’er called him.
Jin Xiangdong looked at her as she continued, “Maybe, there is another way!”
Jin Xiangdong could tell what Lu Jia’er was thinking. “No, I won’t agree!” He said.
Lu Jia’er’s reply was, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained!”
Though Jin Xiangdong was well aware of Lu Jia’er’s intention, he still said no. “It’s too dangerous. I won’t approve of it!”
“Ace.” Lu Jia’er reached out her hand and grabbed his hand on the steering wheel. Her voice as she said his name was so gentle.
Jin Xiangdong was still unwilling to give up. “Hang on. There is a space between the two cars on the right. I will drive through!”
“No, that is too risky!” Lu Jia’er grabbed his hand.
“Let’s go with my method!” Jin Xiangdong stared at Lu Jia’er.
Lu Jia’er shook her head. “No!”
Jin Xiangdong did not want to waste more time. “Jia’er!”
However, before he said his piece, the two cars that blocked his way started all of a sudden. They drove toward him and then past him. The three cars behind Jin Xiangdong turned around and drove in the opposite direction as well.
Jin Xiangdong and Lu Jia’er, who were arguing, were completely surprised. They had no idea what was going on. Yet this was not the best time to dwell on those thoughts. Jin Xiangdong stepped on the gas and sped forward.
