Chapter 1

DHANUSH'S POV

I was heading back to my penthouse. The meeting with Hayden proved out to be fruitful. But it led to
some bloodshed as I turned to return back to my office. Despite of giving a stern warning, he had the
guts to even think of attacking me. Come on man... I am one of the devils after all.

SOMETIMES EVEN SATAN SITS BACK AND ADMIRES MY WORK. Although we had a higher
purpose to serve which was beyond these drug dealing, peddling etc.

Anyway, Hayden had the spine of pulling out a child's play of attacking me, that too in my office, on the
top of it... with the intention of killing me! Like.. What The Fuck!

I was really pissed.. Although I took my revenge by leaving him limbless and with no nails and only one
eye, I was frustrated.

Then, as I got into my Limo.

I saw my phone flashing a conference call. It was of Shiv, Rudra and Abhimanyu.

They have been my brothers-cum-best friends-cum-partners in crime. We have known one another
since our college days.

I quickly accepted the call. "So, how was the meeting? Did he agree to our demands?"enquired Shiv.
"Good. The meeting was a success. Except for the fact that Hayden was a pain in the ass. His child
stunt of attacking me caused a bloodshed" Shiv chuckled.

"But does that increase any possible threats from the Italian Mafia?" Asked Rudra as he fiddled with
some files."Umm... the way I have left him after the attack, I dont think they shall have the guts to
bounce back." I reasoned out shrugging.



"Presently because of the government restrictions the smuggling of drugs, arms is becoming difficult.
Water transport is a bit risky now, especially in the western waters." Stated Abhi in a grave tone.

"Ya, agreed. The checking of shipments has increased there. And all the transportation domain comes
under the chief minister- Narayan Dhoopar." Explained Shiv.

I could sense where the conversation was heading so I decided to cut off. "Umm.. guys, i think the
Russian Pact is not been followed by The Phoenix. So.. i should go and check it out i guess... so
byee..!"

The Phoenix was the Mafia Gang lead by the Russians. Although it did turn to be a thorn in the ass at
times because of the provoking, sudden attacks it planned, but still it was under control. In short, this
was the best excuse I could think of.

But....

"NO!" Thundered all the three together. Shit! I'm doomed.

"Take a damn decision regarding Narayan Dhoopar's proposal for fuck's sake!" Commanded Abhi. Well
yes, you heard it right... commanded ME. I dont mind though.

"Yes, Dhanush. He is growing restless with every passing day. Moreover the alliance with his daughter
shall only prove to be fruitful."Explained Rudra.

"Agreed. We shall get control all over the Western Waters."continued Shiv.

Actually Narayan Dhoopar, the current chief minister had been persistent on marrying off his only
daughter Nayantara Dhoopar to me, as marriage with any of the devils meant power. The marriage
would give us control over the transportation domain across the country while Dhoopar could be
upgraded as the Home Minister.



It's not like I was unsure about the alliance or something. I was already leading a dangerous life full of
insane dangers and rivals. In this situation, I didn't have the patience or time to entertain the demands
and expectations of a romantic, spoilt brat! Although Nayantara was innocent, sweet,pretty and meek...
an ideal wife. But still, I couldn't suit myself with her, I don't know why....

Then the roar from Abhi brought me out of my trance.

"Fuck the waters. Take a damn decision, dont leave us hanging." Said a restless Abhimanyu. I found
the edginess of Abhimanyu a bit weird, he's usually poised. But I brushed off the weirdness.

"Ok, ok! I shall think about it and let you all know by tomorrow. So bye!" I said as I noticed we were
almost nearing my penthouse.

All the three of them groaned in frustration. However I ignored and disconnected the call.

I got out of the car as Ravi, my driver-cum-bodygaurd and one of my most trusted man opened the
door for me. Then I took the elevator and went to the top floor where my apartment was.

My penthouse consists of 20 floors where the top most layer is where I reside. The basement was were
i carried out 'my business' related to the Mafia. The rest of the levels consisted of different business
departments. Hotel chains, industries, malls were where we invested the black money we procured
from the 'illegal' business... to keep our collars white. You know, even public image is important!

I was greeted by Shyamlal who has been the house keeper for the last 10 years. Handing my bloodied
shirt i said," "Please take care of it Shyamji."

"Ofcourse sir." He nodded and taking the shirt, he left. I took a shower and then straight crashed on the
bed.
