Chapter 7 A Very Big Project

The Thai, Shadisong, must have been in contact with Wendy, so no wonder he said hello to me.

I joined my hands politely again. “My name is Tom, and I used to be Wendy’s assistant. But now I’m
not, because we have conflicts and I got fired."

He felt sorry for it. “Sorry, no wonder you threw away the work card. I saw the job description on the
card and I took the liberty to bother you out of my curiosity.”

“It doesn’t matter.”

He was polite to ask, “Mr Fang, may I ask you a question again?”

“Please.”

“Why are you having trouble with Ms Bai?”

I frowned slightly at the question and examined the plain Thai.

Wasn’t Wendy having an affair with him?

Perhaps recognizing the doubt in my eyes, he folded his hands apologetically and bowed:

“I’m sorry that it is an abrupt question. I just want to know more about Ms Bai and her company
because we are talking about cooperation with her. Please forgive me.”

“Don’t worry, I understand.” I bowed and folded my hands like him, and I was a little tired of Thai
etiquette.



“I admire your grace.”

He, who was both decorous and sociable, didn’t look down on anyone. Such a kind of person who was
popular and should be in a good position in the BTT Group.

I smiled, and did not respond to his praise. Taking a drink from my mug of beer, then I said slowly,

“Mr Shadisong, you must have met Ms Bai. What do you think of her? From the the external to the
inner?”

He was surprised, then laughed:

“According to Chinese idioms, she looks like a fairy. As for the inner...I have been in contact with her for
a short time, and I think she is a calm, intelligent, upright and principled woman. She never accepts our
company party invitations in the evening, or even refuses us to hold a welcome reception for her.

“Er...This is very different from our Thai women. Here, you can see a lot of scantily clad women in the
street, and foreign tourists can also find females to accompany them in the bar easily. We are
becoming more and more open, which probably is due to the influences of tourism.”

“By the way, Mr Fang, if you are looking for a girl to accompany you, those girls over there have been
watching you since you walked in the door. They are all real girls. In your own words, they should be
good women, right?

I thought it laughable. With his eyes expressions, I saw four girls at a table, one of whom happened to
be looking at me, then looking back shyly.



She’s pretty and had a style of Thailand, but...

I couldn’t tell whether the one was a girl or a man. There were several men in Thailand who were more
beautiful than women. How can he tell?

“How about them, Mr Fang?” He seemed to get my appetite.

“Well, the women here are very beautiful, but I’m not in a good mood tonight.” I exclaimed heartily, and
then changed the subject:

“Go on about Ms Bai. Seemingly, she is what you said, but I think she is an ingratitude.”

“Oh?” He was interested in the subject.

“I’ve been in prison, twice, because of her.”

“Why?” He was surprised and stared at me.

I told him briefly. Anyway, I’d been fired, it was none of my business whether she could get the project
or not. If not, it would be much better.

For the software industry, it was a very big project that was worth more than $1.5 million. Wendy would
be happy to get it, but it might not be hers even if I didn’t make any trouble.

There were many companies competing for this project, including four companies in China, Asan in
India and even a famous company in Silicon Valley.



If only relying on the function and reliability of the software itself, or the technical level, Wendy would
certainly be unable to win the competition.

Unless she’ d like to make sexual bribery with the bosses of BTT Group, she would certainly be able to
get the project. Because she was the most beautiful woman among those competing companies.

But now, it wouldn’t work. The special reception was even rejected by her.

Probably, once bitten, twice shy!

As for the reason why I told him about the story between us, it was just for relieving my feelings. I
thought he was a nice guy, and I felt injured and resentful. It was nice to have someone to listen to me.

At least, I felt much better afterwards.

Hearing me out, he looked incredulous and frowned in thought.

After for a while, he said suddenly, “Mr Fang, I think there may be some misunderstanding.”

“I see, but it’ s true that I was in prison. For the first time, no matter what reasons she had, she didn’t
come forward to testify.” I replied lightly.

When I met Wendy in the detention house, she said that she didn’t know what happened three years
ago. Seemingly, I didn’t want to believe her, but in fact I believed her in my heart. Because when I met
her in the company, she seemed to be innocent.



At my words, he nodded thoughtfully. “Yes, she did do it wrong.”

Then he picked up his glass, smiled and said,

“Mr Fang, I admire your sincerity. I have never seen someone like you before. It’s my pleasure to know
you.”

“Thanks. My pleasure, too.” I accepted his flattery, clinked glasses and drank.

“Mr. Shadisong, I’m curious. Who are you going to work with on the project?”

asked curiously, “If it hasn’t been decided yet, and it’ s a trade secret, just take it as a joke.”

“Ha-ha, you are a very honest man indeed.” He smiled and said:

“Indeed, it’s not been decided yet. But it’ s alright to talk to you. In fact, our senior management officers
tend to choose the company of Silicon Valley. You know, their technology is more reliable.”

At his words, I nodded and agreed , and then said without intention:

“But I think you shouldn’t just think about the reliability of the technology. You should also think about
other things, some of which are even more important than the technology.”

“Oh? What do you think about it?” He seemed to be curious again.

I took a sip of beer and thought about it. I would be in a bad mood if the project was taken by Wendy, or
even the American team or the Indian people.
