Chapter 12 (Part Two)

Nicole paused, but she didn't turn around. Instead, she went back to her office.

She was a tough girl. She wouldn't be knocked down by Lambert. If she was knocked down by
Lambert, it meant that she was knocked down by a mistress. She didn't allow it. Lambert wanted her to
leave, but she still didn't want to leave. Even if she wanted to leave, she had to go in a splendid way,
instead of running away embarrassedly as if she had been driven out!

Because of the conversation on Friday night, Nicole was in a bad mood on the whole weekend. There
was no activities on Sunday, so she just slept at home. Early in the morning, she was woken up by the
noise in the living room. She ran out of the bedroom in slippers and saw her brother Layton looking for
something to eat in the living room. The door of the fridge was still open, and he didn't want to close it
even though the cold air was leaking out.

Seeing that Nicole came out, Layton Lin said to her in coquettish voice, "Nicole, why is there no food at
home? I'm starving to death! You know I come back only once a month, and I'm coming back today.
Why don't you prepare something to eat in advance?"

Layton was a junior student in the J High School. The J High School was a private school, it was not
good but the tuition was very expensive. But because Layton had changed 5 schools within two years,
Nicole was very satisfied to find a school that was willing to admit Layton. Nicole cautiously prayed that
Layton could successfully pass the high school and enter a university, even a college.

out and buy food outside!"

can I live? If I don't play with them, I will starve to death on the street."

Pinching Layton's ear, Nicole gnashed her teeth and said, "You can find a high school student on the
street and ask him about the living standard of the A City. No one can afford two thousand dollars a
month. The living expenses of an ordinary high school student are about one thousand dollars, but you
are not satisfied with two thousand dollars. Do you still think you are rich man and our family is still the
same as before?"

"Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch! Nicole, let me go! Let me go!"

Nicole released her hand, and then Layton ran away. Nicole shouted, "Don't contact with Justin, or no
one will care about you if anything happens!"

Layton snorted at the door, "Since our mother died, you have always been against me! What's more,
Nicole if you continue to be so fierce, you really can't get married!"



After saying that, Layton left arrogantly, Nicole sighed angrily. It was said that adversity trained people,
but why did Layton become totally unpromising?

Was it because Nicole and her mother had protected Layton too well at that time? But that year the
mistress and her daughter appeared, when the truth that Nicole's father had betrayed Nicole's family
was exposed, Layton was only 9 years old. Nicole and her mother didn't want Layton to be hurt, so

In order to make her mother die in peace, no matter how disobedient Layton was, Nicole had to endure
it. Nicole tried her best to think of the merits of Layton. Layton was so cute when he was a child.
Although he were not as good as before when he grew up, he was good-looking and sweet, and many
people liked him. Mrs. Loin next door liked him very much, which meant that he was not bad enough to
make everyone angry. Thinking of this, Nicole's heart was a little calmer.

Nicole took the vegetables and eggs that were left in the fridge and was about to make breakfast in the
kitchen when the property manager of the community suddenly came to her. It turned out that Layton
kicked the trash can downstairs and it was broken. He was fined by the property manager. Since he
didn't have money, he told the property manager his home and let the property come up to find her.

Hearing this, Nicole cursed in her heart, 'Damn it! You are so annoying!'!
