Chapter 34 (Part One)

It seemed that Lambert had doubts and curiosity about Eric's words.

Then Eric explained, "She was interviewed by me. At that time, she was not suitable for the sales
position, but she insisted on trying it. I gave her a chance. In the two months of her probation period,
she often worked overtime to adapt to the sales position. She works very hard and is very focused on
what she wants to do. If a woman is serious about work, she will be very cute, because this not only
shows her attitude towards work, but also her attitude towards life."

Hearing that, Lambert's eyes turned slightly and soon understood what Eric meant.

Nicole often worked overtime, which was discovered after Lambert accepted the E Venture Capital
Company. There was a huge French window in the general manager's office on the 36 floor. Lambert'
often stood by the window to appreciate the scenery, and there could see some of the posts in the
sales department. Lambert' could imagine how Eric had been standing by the French window and
watching Nicole working overtime in the office of the sales department. 'Had it been in the two months
when Eric had been with her so quietly?'

"Mr. Eric... Do you have a different feeling for Nicole?" Lambert questioned. If a man looked at a
woman like this for two months and thought so highly of her, didn't he have a different feeling for this
woman?

For some reason, when Lambert realized that Eric had a crush on Nicole, Lambert felt very
uncomfortable. It seemed that something that should belong to him had been coveted by others, so he
was on guard against it.

But Eric didn't answer. His beautiful eyes were as clear as water, and his young face looked calm and
wise because of his gaze, revealing a few mysteries.



Eric didn't answer Lambert's question. He just patted Lambert's back as if he was comforting an old
friend and left with his red wine glass.

Looking at Eric's back, Lambert slowly picked up the wine glass and took a sip. There were some
speculations, worries and uneasiness in his eyes.

As expected, the dinner lasted till evening. After the dinner, many people drank too much and had to
ask the driver to drive them home. Lambert drank a lot of wine and was not drunk. It was still early, only
7 o'clock evening. So Lambert planned to go back to the company to deal with something before going
home.

When Lambert arrived at the company building and took the elevator upstairs, he found that the
company was already dark, only the lights of the human resources department were still on.

Lambert walked to the general manager's office and passed by the human resources department.
When he was wondering if it was Nicole who worked overtime at this late hour, he saw Nicole go out
with her bag and intend to lock the door. Obviously, she was also going back.

Standing in the darkness, Lambert looked at Nicole as if she didn't notice anyone was there, she took
out the key from her bag and locked the door. After locking the door, she tried to push it two times to
make sure it was completely locked. Then she put the key back into her bag, took out her phone and
left while checking the time.

Lambert thought that how long it would take Nicole to find him. He was staring at her and speculating.
After looking at her phone, Nicole suddenly raised her head and found him standing in the dark
corridor. She was shocked, obviously.

It took Nicole quite a while to realize that it was Lambert who was staring at her in the dark not far
away. Nicole didn't know why Lambert looked like this, but he just stared at others in the darkness
silently and his eyes were so sharp and persistent. It was really terrible.



Nicole had an intuition that something was wrong with Lambert. She guessed that he must have drunk
a little and his expression was abnormal.

Nicole didn't want to greet Lambert. Because of personal grievances, she didn't want to have any
conflict with him alone, so she bowed her head silently and walked past him.

However, to her surprise, Nicole was pushed to the wall by Lambert, who held her shoulders with one
hand and pressed her against the wall with the other. She was trapped in a small circle, completely
blocking her way.

Nicole exclaimed, looking up and smelling the smell of alcohol in Lambert's nose, she said nervously,
"What are you doing?" Nicole felt her voice trembling and her hands clinging to the wall.

Lambert stared at Nicole for a while, but unexpectedly he smiled and asked, "Do you like Eric?"

Nicole felt that his tone was a little frivolous and contemptuous. She really couldn't figure out his
emotions, and this kind of Lambert made her panic and resist.

Nicole struggled and wanted to leave, but her shoulders were suddenly pressed by Lambert's hands,
which made her unable to escape.

Nicole asked angrily, "What do you want to do?"

Lambert asked again, "Do you like Eric?"

"It's none of your business no matter who I like."

"Do you know who his fiancee is?" Lambert smirked and mocked, "His fiancee is... The daughter of the
mayor of the A City. How can you compare yourself with the daughter of the mayor? Are you
daydreaming?"



With her eyes wide open, Nicole was shocked and then angry. Lambert knew how to take advantage of
her weakness and how to make her suffer. Nicole had had enough of being bullied by him!

Nicole didn't want to be bullied by Lambert, so she sneered and tried to calm down. "Do you think I will
be sad if you say that? You're wrong. Only a selfish and narrow-minded person like you can't see
others live a good life and won't bless the happiness of the one you love! Yes, I do like Mr. Eric a little,
but I also know the gap between me and him. I know he won't like me. I know he might have a fiancee.
Even if you tell me that his fiancee is the daughter of the mayor, I can still accept it calmly. Because I
like him and I hope he can live a good life. I wish him happiness! "
