Chi Jiao was jolted awake by the sound of the door slamming. Her gaze flickered as she looked at Quan Jue in confusion and hugged his neck like a spoiled child. “Brother Quan, what happened?”
“It was Officer Huo. He came in and saw us, then suddenly rushed out,” Quan Jue said truthfully.
Chi Jiao snorted and said groggily, “Oh, so Officer Huo Chen is here… Wait, you said he came in and saw us lying together?”
“Yes.” Quan Jue nodded frankly.
Chi Jiao gasped and sat up straight. Her face was flushed red. “Oh my god, I’m so embarrassed!”
Huo Chen was an old acquaintance of hers. He had seen her lying in Quan Jue’s arms like a delicate girl, fast asleep.
How was she to face him now?
“Officer Huo is so old. He must have been in a relationship before. He can understand a young couple’s passion.” Quan Jue had a disapproving expression on his face.
Chi Jiao was so shy that she quickly left his arms. “Brother Quan, you’re too mean. Get up quickly. Officer Huo has helped me this time. I have to be nice to him.”
Quan Jue was already very satisfied when he thought of what Huo Chen had just witnessed. He stood up with a smile and walked to the door to open it.

The taste of coffee flowed into his mouth.

“Miss Chi, the procedures for Ye Yichen’s transfer to 117 have been completed. I have already brought him over. A few days ago, I followed Miss Chi’s instructions and didn’t let anyone bother Ye Yichen. We didn’t interrogate him. Other than giving him food and water, no one else spoke to him,” Huo Chen said with a smile.
A smile appeared on Chi Jiao’s face as she nodded gratefully. “Thank you for your help, Officer Huo. I think Ye Yichen is going to have a mental breakdown soon. It will be easier for me to deal with him personally.”
Seeing that Chi Jiao was pleased, Huo Chen finally felt that his work wasn’t in vain.
