Unable to stop Laurent’s persistent pestering, Chen Zhao could only accept the client.
Chen Zhao, Laurent and his three bodyguards came to an old street.
Chen Zhao turned his head and glanced at Laurent. “Laurent, are you sure you’re coming with me?”
“Call me Mr.,” Laurent said with his eyes wide.
Chen Zhao ignored Laurent. Although there was no one around, the place looked like those gang assembly points in movies.
If something were to happen to Laurent, Chen Zhao really did not know how to explain to Fali.
“You three better protect this old man properly,” Chen Zhao said with a dark look.
“Mr. Laurent, I think we should leave now.” Kane seemed to be worried too.
“Why did I hire you? To protect me!” Laurent shouted.
“Mr. Laurent, the person who hired us is Ms. Winnip… not you.”
“What’s the difference?”
Chen Zhao had a headache. He parked at the roadside.
After they alighted from the car, they walked into a small alley with Chen Zhao in front.
There were tall grasses growing at the side of the alley. The place seemed to have been abandoned long ago.
Chen Zhao wondered what kind of people were in there.
Finally, they came to a building that looked like a factory. The door was filled with rust and the windows had also been sealed off.
Chen Zhao was unsure if his client was really inside.
Nevertheless, he still knocked on the metal door. Hollow echoes could even be heard from the inside.
Just then, the door opened slightly and a person stuck his head out. He looked at Chen Zhao and then at the people behind him.
“Who are you?”
“I’m a doctor. I heard that someone here needs treatment.”
“What about them?”
“They’re new and going to learn from me.”
The person hesitated for a while, after which he threw Chen Zhao a black mask. “Wear this.”

Indeed, the factory was used by a gang to produce some illegal stuff.

“He can’t really move,” the person said again.

“Wait… Why are we leaving now? I want to go in and take a look,” Laurent said.
“Laurent, do you have any idea where this place is? Do you know what we might encounter?”
“I don’t care. I just want to go in. Give me a mask,” Laurent said.
Chen Zhao already regretted bringing this troublemaker with him.

Laurent was not considerate at all.

“Give me your phone as well.” Chen Zhao sighed and gave his phone to the person.
With his mask on, he was led into the factory. There was complete silence.

It seemed to be an ice storage room. Then, Chen Zhao heard the door close with a bang. He waited for quite a while.

“Can I take off the mask?”

Chen Zhao thought about it and took off the mask.
He realized that he was really in an ice room. Behind him was a thick iron door.
Then, he saw Laurent’s face through the insulating glass on the door.
Chen Zhao tried to turn the handle on the door. It was probably locked from the outside.
Chen Zhao knocked on the door. “Open it.”
Laurent waved his hand from the outside. “Kid, how do you feel inside?”
“It’s all arranged by you?” Chen Zhao’s face darkened.

The temperature kept dropping. Chen Zhao’s long sleeve shirt and jacket could not provide him with enough warmth.
However, Chen Zhao could eat food to maintain his body temperature.
He still had a lot of roasted wyvern meat. Indeed, he would not starve for a long while, not to mention just a day.

“Mr. Laurent, I can’t promise you anything.”
“How long can we keep him in there?”

After eating some wyvern meat, Chen Zhao felt a hot current flowing in his body. He did not feel cold at all.
“I’ll see how long you can persist.”
“Don’t let me catch you.” Chen Zhao gritted his teeth.
