Chapter 23

After dinner, Rebecca cleared the table.When she was about to wash the dishes, she found that there
was a dishwasher in the kitchen.

It was big, in which not only dishes and cups could be put into, but also pots and pans.It was new and
no one had ever used it.

The dishwasher instructions were still in the machine, all in English.

Rebecca studied it for a while, then put all the dishes into the dishwasher, and it started working.

She then tidied up the kitchen.

When everything was done, she went out with her phone and went downstairs to buy her slippers and
toiletries.

Adam heard the sound of the door.

He came downstairs and went into the kitchen.

Seeing the clean kitchen and the dishwasher running, he smiled faintly.

Linda was taking a shower, so he changed his shoes and planned to go out.

However, he was about to leave when he found a few books that Rebecca had left on the porch
cabinet.

Somehow, Adam stopped and looked through it.

It was all about financial management, investment, and bank credit.



He had read all these books, and for someone who was not interested, there was no way to read them
at all.

With a frown, he strode out of the door.

There was a chain of small supermarkets downstairs, which was convenient.

Rebecca went there to buy things she needed.

When she chose the items and went to the cashier, she found the automatic glass door of the small

Adam was wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and the sleeves of the shirt were rolled up to his

Perhaps it was because he had been lying in the hospital bed for two months that his skin was fairer
than many girls.

Wondering why he came here, Rebecca had been fixing her eyes on him.

However, Adam ignored her as if he had not noticed her at all.

He walked straight to the shelf at the checkout counter and reached out to get the Okamoto Condom.

Rebecca took a deep breath and finally understood what he was doing down here.

Since he didn't say hello to her, she wouldn't do either.

So Rebecca went straight to the cashier.

She didn't buy too many things.



Adam took the Okamoto Condom and stood behind her, waiting in line to pay the bill.

He didn't look impatient, but he didn't show any intention of knowing Rebecca.

"Hello, sir.I'm sorry to keep you waiting."

When Rebecca finished the bill and left, the cashier immediately looked at Adam withasmile.

He put down the condom, then clicked on his phone's payment code and paid the bill.

"Well, sir, please take your time.Welcome to come next time."

Adam ignored the cashier, stuffed the box of Okamoto into the pockets of his trousers and strode out.

Rebecca entered the apartment building, pressed the elevator.

When the elevator door opened and she just walked in, Adam appeared in front of her again, right at
the elevator entrance.

Immediately, she pressed the elevator door button to stop it from closing.

Then, she looked at him.Adam also looked at her, expressionless, as if he really didn't know her.

"Aren't you coming in?"

Rebecca asked after a few seconds, seeing that he was motionless.

"What do you think?"

Adam looked at her and asked.

A cold and mocking smile appeared on his lips.



Alas! Rebecca sighed faintly and withdrew her hand.

Then, the elevator door slowly closed and went straight up to the top floor.

Rebecca didn't know when Adam came up, because as soon as she got back to the apartment, she
went into her room to wash up and didn't go out.

When she finished washing up and was rubbing her hair, a knock came from the door.

Rebecca was sure it was Linda.

"Rebecca, I have a new nightgown here.Adam gave it to me a few days ago, but I think it's more
suitable for you.Take it."

Sure enough, it was Linda holding a sexy black lace nightgown with the tag on it.

With a sweet and charming smile, she was wearing a lace nightgown with real silk and handmade lace.

She looked very beautiful with pink-and-white complexion.

Rebecca looked at her in a daze.Rebecca smiled and took it.

"Okay, thank you.’’ Rebecca's behavior seemed to be beyond Linda's expectations.

She did not expect Rebecca to take it so readily.

"Don't mention it.Remember to wear it!"

With a smile, Linda turned around and left.

Rebecca kept a faint smile on her face until Linda was out of her sight.



She then closed the door and threw the black lace nightgown aside.

She did not think too much as she was pretty busy.

In order to help her teacher write a new book, Rebecca searched through a lot of books and found a lot
of information on the internet.

It was almost early in the morning when her phone rang that she realized it was time to sleep.

She closed the computer, twisted her sore neck, put away the things, and prepared to sleep.

She suddenly felt thirsty, so she opened the door and went out, intending to drink a glass of water.

"Um...Adam..."

However, as soon as the door opened, the woman's gentle voice came to Rebecca's ears.

She immediately returned to the room and closed the door.

Damn! The door was closed.

Leaning her back against the door, Rebecca swore in her heart for the first time.

At this moment, questions crossed her mind.

Why didn't she divorce Adam and why did she move out to live with him and Linda? Why? What was
she doing for? What did she want? Closing her eyes, Rebecca forced a smile, and tears suddenly slid
down her face.

"Rebecca, you are asking for it!" she said to herself.

However, she soon calmed down and didn't take it seriously.



So she wiped the tears off her face, turned to open the door, and went out to drink.

The sound from upstairs kept coming, but Rebecca ignored it.

She walked straight to the dining room, turned on the lights, and went to get some water.

"Adam, it's Rebecca.She's still awake..."

"Whatever, just ignore her"

He was right.Rebecca smiled and gulped down a glass of water.
