Chapter 3: face to face with Selene

It feels like I've slept for days, I opened my eyes slowly and I can see a blue sky and a lot of trees. As I
sit up and look around I can see that just behind the trees is a small lake.

'Pixie, where are we?' I asked through our mind link, but to my disappointment, I didn’t get an answer
back for her.

I start to move my head around more to see where I was. Am I dead? I said out loud.

"No my child you are not dead." I heard a voice.

I looked around but I did not see anyone there. "Who are you? And why can't I see you?"

Just as I finished my question I saw a bright light and a woman with a long white dress and long silver
hair which came to her waist, she had a kind face which was pale but perfect, and her eyes were deep
ocean blue color. My mouth fell open to the beautiful creature in front of me.

"My name is Selene and you couldn't see me before because I didn't want to scare you." She had the
most beautiful voice I had ever heard before in my life.

"Where am I?" I asked her. She looked at me before she answered my question,

"You are in your sanctuary in my realm, I'm the moon goddess, the mother of all the wolves."

I moved my hands up and rubbed my eyes to see if I was dreaming or hallucinating. When I took my
hands away she was still there looking at me and waited for me to process what she told me.

"Then why am I here?" I asked and looked at Selene. "You are here because your wolf Pixie came to
me and asked me to help you." She gives me a warm smile.

"PIXIE?!? Where is she?" I ask her with panic in my voice.



"No need to worry my child, she is asleep in your mind. The only way for me to be able to talk to you
was to put Pixie to sleep in your mind." She said in a calming voice.

I looked at her in confusion and shock at the same time. The moon goddess started to walk over to
where I was sitting and reached her hand to me. She had a warm smile on her face, so I decided to
take her hand and she helped me up.

We walked past the tree lines heading to the lake in silence. I can feel the moon goddess look at me a
few times, but when I look back at her she looks ahead. When we reached the lake she looked at me
again.

"If you are the Moon goddess can you," she cut me off like she knew what I was about to ask her.

"I will tell you all about it when you are ready to hear it. I know you have suffered a lot at the hands of
your father and the moonlit pack, but that was your destiny so you could achieve my future plans for
you".

I looked at Selene in shock, like my eyes were going to pop out my head. It felt like I had a lump in my
throat, tears started rolling down my cheeks.

"What the hell do you know? You don't know anything I have been through!" I scream at the moon
goddess with a crying voice.

"Shh my child, I know about it all. It has hurt me to see it all." She looked at me with pain in her eyes.

"But you are the fuck…." I started to say when she cut me off.

"Don't you dare finish that word!" She said in a powerful voice."

Her face lights up in an angry red color, but it disappears in a blink of an eye and returns to normal. I
looked at her stunned.



"Sorry, but why did you not stop it?" I asked her, Selene looked out at the horizon behind the lake.

"You had a different destiny before your mother was murdered. This destiny that is in front of you now,
is because your mother was murdered." She paused and took some breath and continued.

"Remember my child, you will soon wake up to find out that you are not alone. You will find out more
and get answers to your questions and the purpose as to why all this has happened to you, but you
have to be patient."

I looked down at my hands as tears started flowing down even more. "I don't want to wake up. I just
want to end this suffering and to be with my mother and brother."

Selene snapped her head to me, "Don't you dare think to take your life. I told you, you're no longer
alone, trust me." She said. I look up at Selene with red eyes from crying.

"Trust you, how? Look at me I am a daughter of an alpha that tortured and raped me and you never
came! I’m broken and lost!"

Selene starts to walk closer to the edge of the lake but turns her head back and looks at me.

"Yes you are broken and lost, but you will find your way back. Aleera my child, my time is up and it's
time for you to wake up" she told me and turned her back to me and started to walk in the lake. Literary
walking on the surfers!

A bright light showed up making me close my eyes. When I opened my eyes she was gone.

"You can't just leave me here with more questions and no answers!" I screamed out over the lake.
While tears ran down my cheeks.



"You can't leave me, I need you, I can't do this, I’m afraid to go back." The words stumble out from my
lips.

I looked around and noticed that everything around me started to fade away and turned to black. I
close my eyes to wait for the end.
