Chapter 27: Firat shift

Third POV

Darius was on his way to the dungeon to face Aleera's brother, Angelo Hawks. As he thought about
what Angelo and her dad did to Aleera on purpose it made him angrier. How could he do this to his own
sister? It was incomprehensible. Why do all this for the alpha title? A female wolf can only take that title
when her parents don't conceive a son, so the title was his already. Why did he do all this?

Darius had just reached the dungeon and was about to open the door when he felt pain all over his
body, he knew it came from Aleera. He turned around when he heard her screaming and he started to
run back. Her screams got louder and louder making every wolf get into battle position ready to fight
due to the event earlier. He had to mind link everyone telling them it was Aleera that was screaming.
Everyone was worried due to the battle earlier but as soon as he told them what it was they started to
relax a bit knowing it wasn’t another battle.

Darius ran as fast as he could back to her room. He threw open the door and looked around but was
not able to spot her when he saw the glass door open so he rushed to the balcony and found her laying
down on the balcony floor. Her whole body was shaking and her eyes were rolling back. He recognized
the symptoms right away, she was about to shift for the first time.

He noticed that her lips were moving like she was trying to talk but it was so low that he had to lean
down to hear her.

"What is going on?" She asked in a shaky whispering voice.

"Baby, you are about to shift for the first time." He said to her while pulling her closer to him so she
could feel that he was there with her for her first shift.

The skin on my body felt like it was on fire, I wanted to tear it off me so the burning feeling would go
away. Every second I could felt my body getting hotter and hotter and it felt like my skin was being torn
apart when I started to feel pain inside my body, not long after my bone started to break. I could feel
Darius was holding both my arms down with a tight grip but I don't know why.

"Let me go." I manage to tell him between the pain of my bones breaking.

"You are going through the transformation, right now your claws and canines are out and they are the
most dangerous part in the first shift, that's why I am holding them down. I don’t want you to hurt
yourself." He said back but I only understood half of it as all my focus was on my pain and how to get
rid of it

The disgusting taste of iron filled my mouth and I knew it was blood. Why can't the first shift be much
easier? Why does it need to be this painful and how long do I need to go through this first shift?

I pushed Darius away from me but where I got the strength to do it I had no idea. My bones were
breaking even more now and were reforming inside me. Every crack was painful and I just wanted it to
stop.

This is a pain I never wanted to feel again and I would not want anyone else to feel it either. I know for
sure that I won't survive this pain.

The popping sound was echoing in my ears as my bones were reforming themself and every time a
bone broke it felt like my insides were going to burst out.

I was gasping for air as the pain got worse and worse and the time passed only to realize the pain I
was feeling was from the claws breaking through my skin. It felt like I have been going through this
transformation for hours and I was crying like a child. Then just like that everything stopped and the
pain was gone.



I opened my eyes but it was too bright so I shut them. After a while I opened them again but slowly this
time.

My eyes refocused and everything looked different from before. My hearing was also different from
before I was able to hear stuff more clearly now and I could hear Darius’s heartbeat. Even the smell of
everything was so much better than before and if I focused enough I was able to smell the blood on the
front lawn for the attack earlier but what I could smell the most and liked very much was Darius’s scent.

I sat up but something felt weird, it was uncomfortable. I looked over at Darius who was looking at me
with a weird look. Why was he looking at me that way? He must have seen many wolves shift being the
alpha of this pack. Do I look that horrible?

It hurt so much to see that he despised my looks so much that I moved away from him but he stopped
me.

"My love, where are you going?"

He must have noticed that I was trying to answer him back but was not able to. He came closer to me
and grabbed both sides of my furry head to look me right in my eyes.

"Close your eyes, my love. You need to open up the mind link to be able to answer me when you are in
your wolf form."

I tried, but it didn’t work at all. I started to get frustrated and he must have noticed it because he gave
me more instructions to help me.

"Concentrate and find me through your thoughts and when you have made a connection you will be
able to talk to me through the mind link."



I tried again and did what he told me to do. I concentrated and tried to find him but all I heard was other
voices and they were loud, I did not like it at all. I pushed even more and tried to find him. I screamed
out his name.

'Darius'

'Yes, my love.'

'How long did this go on for?'

'Little over an hour. Hun, you are so beautiful.'

'But why did you look at me like I looked horrible.'

'I looked at you, not because of that, but how your wolf looked like.'

'What do you mean?'

"Baby, I am looking at the stunning white wolf in front of me. Do you have any idea how rare it is to see
a white wolf?'

'White? Is my fur white?' Now I was shocked.

It can't be possible. I looked down at my front legs and to my surprise, I saw white fur. I need a mirror
so I can see every part of my body.

'I need a mirror I need to see. Can you help me?'

He only nodded his head and got up from his seated position and he pulled the curtains close and then
closed the glass doors and I was able to see my reflection in the glass door.



Oh my god, the reflection showed me as a full-grown wolf with white fur. The fur on my body looked so
soft to touch, my wolf was so beautiful and huge. I even noticed that my eye color had changed from
light blue to dark deep sea blue. Is this really me? It was then I heard a voice I could recognize
anywhere, it was Pixie.

'So what do you think? Do you like it?'

'Pixie of course I do, but the good question is where the hell have you been?'

'I have been here by your side all along, but you have been blocking me out. That's why I have not
been able to talk to you.'

‘Blocking you out? How?'

'Yes, you have blocked me out before, so it's not your first time doing it. As a shapeshifter, we can
block out the other part of ourselves if we feel like it but we need to know how to do it. Me as your wolf
knows how, but you as a human have to learn how it works. I’m not sure how you were able to because
no one taught you how which should've made it impossible for you to have even done it but you did. It
makes a good question, one both of us want to find out. The weird thing is that the block was so strong
that I have not been able to get through.’

'When was the first time?'

'The first time was after your father raped you and you wanted to be alone, you were in such a bad
state.'

'So you mean you were there?'

'Yes, I was there every time.'



'I am so sorry Pixie that you also had to go through it.'

'Aleera don’t you ever feel sorry for what your scum father did to you. I would never have left you alone
in all this, I am part of you and would never leave you to go through it alone.'

'Thanks, Pixie. Thank you for being there for me all these years.'

'Your welcome, but as we just have done our first shift we need to shift back so both of us can rest. It
has taken a toll on us and I am not as strong as others wolf as we have not been able to train as others
have been doing'

I turned my head towards Darius who was looking at me patiently.

'How do I shift back?'

'Close your eyes and just think about your human form and then you will shift back.’

I closed my eyes and focused on my human form and I started to feel pain once again, but this time it
was bearable and quicker.

‘I will never be far away' I heard Pixie telling me

When the popping and the pain were over I opened my eyes. I was now standing on two legs and back
in my human form. I saw in the reflection in the glass door that I was completely naked.

"Turn around. I am naked." I said while I blushed, it was so embarrassing to stand there in front of him
naked.

"Yes, I can see that you are naked. I will not turn around, I like seeing you naked, and just so you know
every time you do shift back from a wolf you will be naked. I forbid you from shifting back around other
males, I don't want them to see your naked body."



If he won't turn around then I will. I had my back to him when I felt him standing closer to me. I could
feel his breath on my skin. I felt something on my shoulders and I looked down and I saw his jacket, he
leaned in to whisper in my ear.

"And just so you do know, I love seeing you naked." Said in a husky voice leaving kisses down my
neck.
