Why was everyone blaming her mother for her own actions? Her mother had been long dead and had nothing to do on what she does in her life now. Lu Xinyi hated whenever someone talks bad about her mother. In her whole life, she never knew someone as patient and kind as her mother.

Lu Xinyi frowned with her lips pressed together. She didn’t want to answer Sun Ruying. If this persists, people might discover her marriage to Shen Yi soon and his name will be slandered because of her attitude.
Seeing that Lu Xinyi didn’t want to reply to her, Sun Ruying stepped forward and raised her hand, intending to slap Lu Xinyi again and drag the young woman out of this place. She was so enraged that she summoned all her strength to slap her niece.

Lu Xinyi cried in pain, not from the slap she received but from the painful twist that happened to her ankle when she fell hard on the marble floor. She tried to fight back her tears but they started to run down on her cheeks.
“Xinxin!” Xiao Lan came back and found her friend pushed down the floor and crying. These mean women had surely attacked her dear Xinxin! She was too late to save Lu Xinyi. If only she had arrived earlier, this wouldn’t happen.
“I hope Lady Sun wouldn’t mind explaining why she slapped one of my esteemed guests tonight.”
