“I’ll go with you if you promise to release my bodyguard and not touch even a single hair of the guests.” Lu Xinyi demanded. Although she was nervous, she still kept her cool. She was well aware that Jiao Jiao and everyone’s life was in her hands.
“Woman, you do know that you aren’t in the place to tell us what to do. It’s not up to you whether I want them alive or not. You can’t even assure if you’ll be able to see the next sunrise after this.” She paused and shifted her hold on Jiao Jiao’s body. “To think that you are willing to exchange your life for a mere bodyguard. Aren’t you too kind, Madam Shen?”
“A person like you probably doesn’t know the words compassion and humanity.” Lu Xinyi hardened her jaws, refusing to back down under Feng Qianyu’s intimidating stare.
The guests fell on their knees and covered their heads with their arms as they continued to tremble and silently cry in fear. They were afraid that Feng Qianyu might shoot another person again.
“Madam Shen, whether you like it or not, you are coming with us. Or do you want to see her blood painting the white wall with it?” She pressed the nozzle of the gun on Jiao Jiao’s temple.
“Don’t hurt her…” Lu Xinyi hissed back.
Such a beautiful woman, none of them had thought that this was her true identity. In their eyes, she was a soft-spoken woman who cared for her colleagues.
Who had known that her real personality was so twisted that she wouldn’t bat an eyelid after shooting Jiao Jiao in front of everyone? She was a madwoman!
The security team that Shen Yi arranged for Lu Xinyi wasn’t lacking. It would be enough to keep her safe but not everyone.

Lu Xinyi looked as Jiao Jiao tried to struggle on Feng Qianyu’s hold to fight back. Even at this point, Jiao Jiao still put her effort and mind to protect her. If she wasn’t trying to stop Feng Qianyu earlier, she wouldn’t have suffered a fatal injury like this.
Lu Xinyi was infuriated. She glared furiously at the woman who hurt her friend. Any logical reasoning would be lost to this woman.
Feng Qianyu stared at her for a long time, trying to figure out if this was some kind of deceit Lu Xinyi was playing to buy some time; but seeing that the little devil was really concerned about everyone’s welfare, she decided to play her cards well.
She only needed this woman to lure the demon king out. Knowing how Shen Yi cherished his wife above all, he would surely come running to rescue her.
“Alright. At the count of three, I want you to come here before I release this woman. What do you say, Madam Shen?”
“Miss…” Zhang Qing didn’t like this at all. They were supposed to protect Lu Xinyi, not the other way around. Shen Yi would skin them alive once he found out what transpired tonight, knowing that they weren’t able to protect their mistress.
Lu Xinyi turned her to face her with a solemn expression on her face. She gently removed Zhang Qing’s hold on her arm. There was no other way to save Jiao Jiao but to surrender herself.
“You take care of Jiao Jiao. Also, make sure to check on the twins later. Keep in touch with Qiao He. Yi should know what to do next,” she told her in a low voice, aware that Feng Qianyu was watching her every move.
She was also scared and nervous, but she didn’t want Zhang Qing to worry any further. She needed to be sensible at this crucial time. Antagonizing Feng Qianyu might cost another person’s life.
“Are you done with your parting words? Don’t test my patience, Lu Xinyi!” Feng Qianyu exclaimed and pushed the end of her gun against Jiao Jiao’s neck. Time was ticking, and she knew any more minutes spent staying here would be in her disadvantage.
She wasn’t a fool. She knew that Lu Xinyi had other bodyguards outside and would come to her rescue once they were alarmed. It wasn’t easy for her to let her people come inside.
“I’m going with you. Stop this nonsense already.”
Finally, Lu Xinyi understood what was going on. This was one of Feng Zexian’s ways to get revenge on her husband. Shen Yi had once told her that she was his weakness and hadn’t really believed it until now.
The clicking sounds of Lu Xinyi high heels on the cold marbled floor as she strides towards Feng Qianyu. Her long white sequin dress trailed behind her, with cold eyes focused on the other woman who dared to disturb her peace.
Two men stepped forward from Feng Qianyu’s back while she threw the bleeding Jiao Jiao on the floor. She stepped back and smirked, watching everyone cowering in fear.
Ah, she really felt good being in charge. Her father initially left her at the capital to wait for Lu Xinyi’s return and snatch her away under Shen Yi’s nose. However, Zou Yin kept on interfering with her plans.
The men dragged Lu Xinyi and viciously tied her hands behind her back and restrained her movements. Feng Qianyu grasped her chin painfully, her face hovering close to hers.
“Ah, I can’t believe such a woman was able to subdue the demon king.” The woman gave Lu Xinyi a good look. “Nothing special about you at all, but that’s fine. As long as Shen Yi wanted you alive, he would serve his own head in a silver platter to us.”
Meanwhile, Zhang Qing rushed to Jiao Jiao’s side and checked her wound; but what she wasn’t expecting was Feng Qianyu shooting her, too. She managed to move and was shot on her right shoulder.
“No! Zhang Qing!” Lu Xinyi shouted. Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Feng Qianyu. “You liar! You said you won’t hurt anyone!”
She cast a pitiful look at Lu Xinyi as she felt useless at the crucial moment.
“Oh? Did I say that?” The woman feigned innocence over the matter. “Do forgive me, Madam Shen, but I cannot let anyone ruin my plans tonight.”
By immobilizing Jiao Jiao and Zhang Qing, she would have less trouble taking Lu Xinyi away. Now, she only had to make sure that the other two bodyguards of Madam Shen wouldn’t be able to arrive in time by delaying them.
After she finished talking, she waved a hand and commanded.
“Take her away! Let’s see how long President Shen wants to play hide and seek with us!” She snickered and laughed loudly.
Lu Xinyi resisted their grip but failed. The men holding her limited her movement by covering her mouth with a hand towel with a weird scent.
She saw both Jiao Jiao and Zhang Qing were badly injured. Jiao Jiao had lost consciousness while Zhang Qing hissed in pain as she struggled to move herself and her partner away from Feng Qianyu’s sight, or else they might be killed on the spot.
Lu Xinyi tried not to breathe in, but it was difficult not to. Her vision grayed at the edge, and her limbs lost its strength. She heard Tang Lilou and Zhang Qing yelling her name.
Tears slipped out from her eye as she saw Feng Qianyu’s familiar face sneering in triumph after abducting the demon’s bride.
