The sky was already dark when Lily reached home, but when she noticed the lights were on, it
reminded her that someone was waiting for her. It made her feel serene and safe.

She walked into the house and felt the warmth within. Alexander was sitting on the couch in the living
room, watching television. Seeing she was back, he took the remote control by his side and switched
off the television. Then he walked to the kitchen and brought out a bowl of hot soup so she could drink
it after she changed into her house slippers.

“Are you cold?” he asked.

“I’m fine.” Lily was not far from the city when Eloise dropped her off, and it was easy for her to grab a
cab home. It was just that the place was quite far from their house. Hence it took a little longer for her
to get home.

She took small sips of the soup; it tasted fresh and delicious. She felt grateful and happy.

“What are you looking at?” Lily turned to look at Alexander after drinking half of her soup.

The warmth from the soup was still lingering on her fingertips, making Alexander’s face feel. warm too.

should describe a man.”

“Says who?! You look good! You look the best!” Lily chuckled and even pinched his cheeks
mischievously.

Alexander held her wrists tightly, stopping her from moving. With a swift turn, he had her pressed
against the sofa. In that position, she looked up at him innocently. After staring at her face for some
time, he leaned down and locked his lips with hers.

Alexander was gentle, and his hands grabbing her wrists, were now holding her palms. Soon after, he
intertwined his fingers with hers. The passionate kiss lasted a long time, and the two lost their breaths,
almost gasping for air.

“Did she make things difficult for you?” Alexander asked, still unable to hold in his question.

Lily quickly understood he was referring to Eloise. She shook her head. “She didn’t. Look, I came back
in one piece, didn’t I?”

“Did you accept her request?” he asked again.

Lily said, shaking her head again at his question. “No, I rejected her.”

“Oh.” It was a short reply, but Lily could tell Alexander felt relieved upon hearing her answer. “You don’t
want me to accept her request?” Lily was curious if Alexander knew about Nathaniel and Eloise’s
relationship. However, it would not be strange if he knew because het had the power to find out.



“I won’t make decisions for you, but if you need my opinion, I can give you them. I’ll ultimately respect
the decision you make.”

Lily circled her arms around his neck and leaned into his embrace. “I don’t want to accept her request
because I don’t think I can create a perfume that fits her through my understanding. and interaction
