secretary? I’ll pay you handsomely.”

Oh… My services don’t come cheap, but if Gwenny’s hiring me, I’d be more than happy to oblige.

The next second, he curled his lips into a smile. “It’d be my honor to be your secretary, Gwenny.
Besides, you won’t even need to pay me. I’m a hard worker, and I’ll be at your beck and call from
morning till night. Most importantly, my services will go beyond office duties.”

Gwendolyn raised a brow and chuckled. “Wow. What a good deal. I’ve struck gold, haven’t I?”

“Of course,” Cedrick replied with a grin. “I’d never let anyone take advantage of you.”

Pleased with the man’s sweet words and performance, Gwendolyn melted into his embrace and kissed
him passionately.



Within seconds, temperatures rose, and the air was filled with intense sexual tension.

Just then, Gwendolyn’s new assistant, Parker Downey, knocked on the door and opened it, only to see
what was happening on the couch. ”Ms. Harris, Mr. Black is here to look for you… Oh, sh*t! I’m sorry!”

Flushed with embarrassment, the frantic woman quickly closed the door.

Robert Black, who was kept waiting outside the office, fixed Parker with a stare. “Why aren’t we going
in? What’s Ms. Harris doing?”

“M-Ms. Harris is handling some personal affairs. Please wait a moment, Mr. Black.”

“Personal affairs?” Robert fumed.

Gwendolyn continued to straddle Cedrick before slipping her fingers under his shirt, teasing him with
every touch.

Cedrick pursed his lips, his chest heaving as a wave of sensations washed over him.

“No, Gwenny. It isn’t safe here. The walls have ears!”

Gwendolyn grinned. “I’m the CEO of Harris Group, though. Who’d have the guts to eavesdrop or watch
what I’m doing with my fiancé behind closed doors?”

A frown instantly crossed Cedrick’s brow. Well, she has a point. However… The door isn’t locked!

“Come on. Stop playing,” Cedrick gently coaxed. “I’m here to help you analyze these documents. It’s an
important business matter.”

Undeterred, Gwendolyn pouted and played with the man’s loosened tie, her red lips pressed
seductively against his ear.

“This is also an important business matter, Ceddy. Don’t you want to do it?”

By then, Cedrick had blushed up to his ears. “I do, but this isn’t the place for that…”

“Just so you know, I’d be tired after a long day at work, so no matter how much you beg for it at night, I
won’t give in to you!” Gwendolyn scoffed as she rolled her eyes.

Naturally, that made Cedrick worried.

It might be unprofessional to flirt at work, but it’d be even more unbearable if he lost his bedroom
privileges at home!

After a long internal struggle, he finally relented.

“All right. Let’s do it now,” Cedrick muttered before closing his eyes and offering himself like a lamb to
the slaughter.



To his surprise, Gwendolyn snorted and moved away from him.

“Sorry, but I’m no longer in the mood. Since you love working so much, you can carry on writing your
analyses and annotations,” she said snarkily while pointing at the stack of documents on the coffee
table. “I want you to complete those by the end of the work day. Otherwise, when we get home tonight,
you’ll receive ten slaps on the hand for each unfinished page.”

Cedrick stared at the document pile and paled.

My goodness. That stack is almost half my arm’s length! How am I supposed to finish everything before
office hours are over? Argh! Gwendolyn rarely takes the initiative to come on to me. Why couldn’t I
have just gone along? So what if we get caught in the act? It’s no big deal. Besides, I won’t be the one
feeling embarrassed. Alas, I’ve messed things up this time. Not only have I lost big, but I also have to
endure punishment…

Feeling utterly remorseful, Cedrick tugged at her pitifully. “Gwenny, please don’t…”

“Back to your work!” Gwendolyn demanded haughtily as she pushed the man away and returned to her
table to continue working.
