Chapter 62

Emmett's eyes still didn't move away from her face, not allowing any subtle change of expression to go
unnoticed. He stared at her like a man solving his first puzzle, determined and serious.

Alyssa was also staring at him this whole time. If outsiders were to see them now, they would've felt the
tension rising on the rooftops. They were like a pair of kids, just waiting for the other to budge.

Alyssa wasn’t experienced in getting along with men before, so she blushed. "You're shameless!"

Emmett placed his chopsticks back on the table. His face was still serious. "I haven't even touched you.
Why are you scolding me?"

Not knowing what else to say, Alyssa turned around and went back into the kitchen to get the second
serving. She had finished it in the kitchen before coming out, all good to go.

Emmett had already finished his breakfast when she came out. At the sight of her empty plate, the



corners of his lips twitched upwards in surprise.

Seeing her disappear, Emmett couldn’t help but smile.

She really was something else.

Perhaps it was a good thing that he hadn't revealed himself as Emmett just yet so that he could get to
know this other side of her.

early last Friday.
