Good Son-In-Law

Clayton was a Wall Street investor, so he would not be unaware of such a well-known figure in the
industry.

Since Jay Malone retired, many rookies had not heard of him.Jay Malone was the true big shot.

Clayton did not expect his late mother-in-law to have such a relationship with Jay Malone.Jay was
sitting in the living room.He was more than ten years older than Floyd, but he looked healthy and was
an open-minded old man.He looked authoritative and had such a strong presence.

However, Jay was excited at this time, so he did not look so cold and distant.Nicole walked in and went
over politely to say hello.

"Godfather, how are you?" She looked at Jay.Her impression of Jay was from ten years ago.

Jay was tall, strong, and omnipotent.However, there was no denying that the old man in front of her

good spirits.

Jay was chatting with Floyd.He looked at Nicole and raised his eyebrows.

"This little girl is all grown up now! She looks more and more like her mother."

Nicole paused and subconsciously looked at Floyd.

Floyd’s expression did not change.He nodded with asmile.

Nicole was a little relieved to see this.



Floyd pointed at Clayton, who was next to Nicole.

"This is Clayton Sloan, my good son-in-law."

Clayton was polite and knew what to say.

Before Jay spoke, Clayton said with a warm and humble smile, "Mr.Malone, I’ve long heard of your
name."

Jay was stunned for a while.He seemed to be deliberately making a fuss.

"Oh? When and where have you heard of my name?"

Nicole was speechless as she thought, ‘Why is he embarrassing my husband?’ She looked to Floyd for
help, but Floyd smiled nonchalantly.

This seemed expected.

Clayton smiled faintly and said calmly, "Back when I first started investing on Wall Street, I made my
first pot of gold after reading numerous case studies from you, Mr.Malone.You’re my inspiration.I’ve
always admired you GBq'\sKN wanted to meet you in person, but I wasn’t good at academics, so I was
worried that I’d disturb you and only dared to admire you from afar.Who doesn’t know that you’re the
master of investment?"

Jay was obviously shocked by Clayton’s words.He was not only shocked but also very satisfied.

Clayton looked gentle, but he was not timid, nor did he have the bad habit of pretending to be arrogant
just because he was rich.

Jay thought, ‘Why didn’t I meet such a humble and honest son-in- law?’

He immediately slapped his thigh in excitement and praised Clayton.



"Floyd, you do have a good son-in-law! You have a good eye for picking him!" After speaking, Jay gave
Nicole a thumbs up.

"Lil N, you're a lucky one!" Nicole blinked and smiled shyly.

If Jay continued to praise Clayton, Nicole would start blushing.

Nicole walked over, poured a cup of tea for Jay, and said with a smile, "Godfather, didn’t you retire to
an island? Why did you come back? Is Sister back too?"

She was referring to Jay’s daughter.

Nicole had met Jay’s only daughter before, but they did not keep in touch.

That was because Jay’s daughter was a devoted scientist who traveled all around the world with no
fixed place of residence.She would be in Europe one day and Africa the next.She was a true science
geek.

Jay sipped on the tea and said with a smile, "She didn’t come back, but I have a grandson to spend the
rest of my days with now.It’s much better than being alone on the island."

Nicole strongly agreed.

"Right! It’s better to stay here.What's the point of living on an island? With global warming, the island
might be flooded! What will you do then?"

The corners of Jay’s mouth twitched as he looked at Nicole.

"You little..." Floyd chuckled.

"Go away! Stop with your nonsense.You even bought one yourself!"



Nicole muttered, "I’m selling it right away!"

Jay sighed and pointed at Nicole.

"This brat only looks like her mother but doesn’t have the same temperament.Her mother was not at all
extravagant or wasteful back then..."

Nicole raised an eyebrow.

"I'll be a fool if I don’t spend the money that I have.My family wasn’t that rich when my mother died
anyway.So, now that we’re rich, I gotta spend my mother’s share as well!"

Jay could not help but laugh out loud.He shook his head and looked helpless.

Floyd sighed sadly when he heard Nicole’s words.

"It's all my fault for not giving her a good life..."

Nicole paused.

Jay seemed to reminisce about the past and sighed.

"Forget it.It’s also my fault.We owe her too much..."

Floyd looked grief-stricken.

Clayton paused and said in a warm voice, "Dad, the physiotherapist is here.Why don’t we go for the
physiotherapy session first and let Nicole stay here for a while?"

Floyd was about to refuse when Jay waved his hand and said, "Go on! You shouldn’t neglect your
health.I’ll be staying with you fora while anyway, so we have ample time to catch up."



Floyd nodded and stood up supporting his back.Clayton hurried over to help, but Floyd stopped him.

"You can stay."

Clayton bowed his head and agreed.

Floyd intended to give Clayton a chance to interact with Jay Malone so that they could get acquainted.

Nicole smiled and leaned forward.

"Godfather, you don’t have to leave.Just stay with my dad! What's your grandson’s name?"

"Fischer Malone.His nickname is Fish."

Jay said with a smile, "That’s because I love fishing."

Nicole was speechless.

"When did Sister give birth? We didn’t hear any news about it either!"

Jay clicked his tongue and sighed.

"She gave birth in Africa.I was so pissed off because she and her husband were roaming around and
even wanted to bring my grandson with them! The places they go to are underdeveloped and
unhygienic.Aren't they just letting my grandson suffer?"

Nicole blinked, lowered her head, and explained to Clayton, "Godfather’s daughter and son-in-law are
both scientists.Both their names appear most frequently in international publications."

Clayton nodded with a smile.

"Talented people are truly rare." Jay snorted softly.



"I wanted her to take over my company and managed to trick her into returning by saying that I was
dying.She took over for a couple of days and started to contact people to acquire my company! I was
so angry that I could only put my hopes on my son-in-law.That was when I found a man who was
willing to marry her and take our last name.He was very capable and could take care of her.As a result,
she eloped with her current husband and came back with a marriage license.I really think that I owed
her in my past life!"

Clayton and Nicole looked at each other, and Nicole could not help but laugh.

"Godfather, is that why you insisted on keeping Fish by your side no matter what?"

Jay glanced at her.

"Of course! I must nurture him well.I can’t let him follow in his parents’ footsteps."

Nicole lowered her head and said to Clayton, "This is the difficulty of having a family empire to inherit."

Clayton glanced at her and said with a smile, "Of course, someone ought to inherit Mr.Malone’s
greatness."

Jay nodded in agreement.

"Just call me godfather as Nicole does."
