Wen Nuan and He Yan accompanied Grandma Jian. They sipped their tea whilst they chatted.
Nowadays, He Yan’s heart burnt with anger whenever she saw Wen Nuan.
However, as she did not manage to stand on the side of reason for the previous matters, in front of Grandma Jian and Grandpa Jian, she had to put up with it.
Not only did she have to put up with it, but she also had to fake a smile. She had to act as if she was grateful to her sister-in-law for taking over such a big job for her.
“You’ve been working quite hard recently. It’s all my fault for not being able to handle the fund’s affairs properly. I caused you to suffer,” He Yan said. Her face was full of smiles as she said this.
Her smile and words were so good that no one could find fault in them.
“The fund belongs to the Jian family. As I am the daughter-in-law of the Jian family, I have a responsibility to take care of it. Please don’t worry about it anymore.” Wen Nuan responded. Although Wen Nuan’s voice was soft, her voice remained confident.
Following this, Wen Nuan asked He Yan: “Oh, I heard that the project that you invested in had some problems arise. If you need help with anything, please do not hesitate to ask me.”
He Yan’s savings had basically been used up.
He Yan didn’t have much savings in the first place. After becoming Jian Shuhong’s wife, she had been spending a lot of money in order to keep up with appearances.

To add insult to the injury, a competing company had recently hired a very skilled technician to help them solve a technical problem with their polymer materials.
If the competitor’s product was sold, then the technology company that she invested in would face bankruptcy. This meant that her investment would go down the drain.
If the investment failed, her current predicament would be even worse.
He Yan secretly gritted her teeth. When did her sister-in-law start to speak like this? Her words were like a needle that was concealed in silk floss.
He Yan smiled as she answered Wen Nuan’s question: “Oh? Where did you hear that from? The project that I invested in is developing steadily. Its prospects are very promising. If all goes well, there will be dividends to us shareholders at the end of the year.”
The mismanagement of the charity fund had already caused Grandma and Grandpa Jian to doubt He Yan’s ability. And thus, He Yan could not let Wen Nuan tell the two of them that her investment vision was problematic.
“I didn’t hear the news from anywhere in particular. I just heard from the wife of the CEO of the company when I had dinner with her a while ago,” Wen Nuan replied.
He Yan secretly gnashed her teeth! Wen Nuan! She was deliberately causing her trouble!
Otherwise, why would she have gone to have dinner with the CEO’s wife? Wen Nuan must have known that she was investing in that company!
“Maybe she’s mistaken. There’s no such thing,” He Yan replied. There was still a smile on her face, however, her heart was cold.
“Did you know that the competitor of the technology company that you invested in is owned by Master Liang?” Wen Nuan said as she slowly sipped on her tea.
“Master Liang? You mean Liang Shuo?”He Yan’s expression immediately changed.
“That’s right. It seems as though you didn’t know about this beforehand.”
He Yan’s smile began to waver. However, she still tried to force herself to smile: “Well, even if it’s Master Liang’s company, it’s not necessarily better than the one I invest in. Innovation depends on the company and not who owns the company. No one is always the master of an industry. Each new generation will be constantly replacing the older generations.”
Despite saying this, He Yan’s heart lacked confidence.
