Jian Yubo’s voice was incredibly clear.
However, his words shocked the entire conference room.
Was he talking about Jian Shuhong and not Jian Shuxing?
The person that he wanted to fire was his own father and not his uncle?!
The smile on He Yan’s face suddenly froze.
At first, He Yan suspected that she had heard wrong. However, after she saw her husband’s equally surprised expression, she knew that she hadn’t heard wrong.
“Yubo, did you say the wrong thing? Why do you want to fire your father?” He Yan asked anxiously.
“There’s no mistake. I want to fire him,” Jian Yubo replied calmly.
Jian Yubo wanted to fire Jian Shuhong. This was different from what everyone had initially thought.
Everyone in the Jian family was shocked. They couldn’t understand what Jian Yubo was doing.
“Why?” He Yan asked. Her face was full of astonishment.
“There’s no reason why,” Jian Yubo responded indifferently.
“What do you mean by that?” He Yan cried out. She began to become agitated. “He’s your father! You become the Chairman and the first thing that you do is fire your father? And you’re not giving me a reason either?!”
Jian Shuhong looked at his son in a daze. He spoke with great difficulty: “Do you hate me?”
“Not really.”
There was no hatred.
However, there was not much of a father-son bond either.
When Jian Yubo was scolded by He Yan, he had expected his father to come to his rescue. However, his father had never shown up.
Did Jian Shuhong ever do anything bad to Jian Yubo?
No.
He hadn’t done anything bad to Jian Yubo. Nor had he done anything bad to Jian Yumin and Jian Yujie.
However, Jian Shuhong hadn’t taken part in their upbringing. If their father had been more aware and more involved in their lives, they wouldn’t have been forced by their mother to do so many things that they didn’t want to do.
And thus, Jian Yubo didn’t hate his father. However, he had no feelings for his father either.
When he heard his son’s cold and indifferent reply, Jian Shuhong’s body was chilled to the bone. His heart stung with pain.
Jian Shuhong was a very gentle man. He was a man who trusted his family and his wife with all his heart.
And thus, after Grandpa Jian handed over the responsibility of running the company to him and his elder brother, he gave his all to his work.
He left his wife to raise and educate his children.
He never knew that what he was doing was indulging He Yan. He didn’t know that his inaction had traumatized and inflicted pain on his children.
He Yan was furious: “Yubo, what exactly do you want? You promised me… You said that…”
He said that he would help her get her hands on the Jian family business!
However, now that he managed to do so, why was the first thing that he did the opposite of what she had expected?!
“Did I? I only said that I would help you get what you wanted. I didn’t say that I would hand it over to you after I got it,” Jian Yubo replied.
“What?” He Yan stammered. She looked stunned.

“Just as you did before,” Jian Yubo said.

He Yan was incredibly confused: “What are you babbling about? What did I do before? What did I ever do to you?”
It wasn’t just He Yan who was confused. Everyone in the conference room was incredibly confused.
What was Jian Yubo doing? He seemed to be targeting his parents.
Jian Yumin and Jian Yujie were at a loss as well. However, there was a vague answer in their minds.
He Yan pondered for a while. She tried to figure out the reason why Jian Yubo was like this.
Then, she tried to soften her tone: “Yubo, why are you angry with your parents? Let’s talk about it at home okay? This is at the company. Please, I beg you. Don’t bring your resent over here.”
