It seemed as though he wasn’t as important as Qin Chuan to God Ling…

When Yu Xi was driving, Jian Yiling was not idle in the passenger seat either.
She took out her small laptop and placed it on her lap.

This was the second time today that Yu Xi had deliberately mentioned Zhai Yunsheng. Yu Xi wanted to see how Jian Yiling reacted to Zhai Yunsheng’s name.
“Mhmm,” Jian Yiling replied. Her response was indifferent as usual.
Yu Xi didn’t see anything fishy about her response.

Yu Xi was close friends with Zhai Yunsheng. This meant that he could attend any party or banquet hosted by the Zhai family.
However, this was the Qin family. The Yu family was nothing in front of the Qin family.
This meant that the Qin family did not need to send an invitation to Yu Xi.
Yu Xi turned around and looked at Jian Yiling: “God Ling, do you have an invitation?”
Jian Yiling shook her head. She hadn’t received an invitation either. She had come to talk to Qin Chuan today on a whim.
At the time of her decision, Jian Yiling had been in the waiting hall of the airport.
And thus, it was too late for Qin Chuan to send her an invitation.
“Then, what do we do?” Yu Xi asked.
“I’ll ask him to come out for a bit,” Jian Yiling replied. She didn’t want to enter the banquet in the first place.
The staff in suits at the door heard the conversation between Yu Xi and Jian Yiling. There was a hint of a strange look in their eyes. However, out of politeness, they didn’t say anything.
Jian Yiling was dressed casually. The clothes she wore were not branded and looked cheap.
Even the clothes of the staff members that were standing at the door to check invitations seemed to cost more than hers.
A female guest who was standing behind Jian Yiling and Yu Xi shook her head and said in a serious tone:
“Little girl, you should be studying hard. Don’t think about coming to these places. This is not the place for you to be.”
