Chapter 47 Punishment, Leo Howard’s Anger

Claire Bennett doesn’t want to continue to tangle with Bryce. She breaks away from his hand.

“Bryce, I’m married. I’m Mrs. Howard. This is an unchangeable fact. Give up and don’t force me
anymore. I will never be with you!”

Claire Bennett roars and runs away without looking back. Her tears fall silently and her eyes are
blurred.

Looking at the back of Claire Bennett, Bryce’s hand clenches into fist and mutters to her, “Claire,
whatever you say, I will not give up!”

Claire Bennett returns to the party. She looks for a long time without seeing Leo Howard.

Claire Bennett doesn’t know people here and is embarrassed to ask others. After searching for more
than half an hour, she still can’t find Leo Howard. She has to go home by herself.

Claire Bennett returns to Leo Howard’s villa. She looks at the locked door and is suddenly at a loss.

The door of the villa is locked. This has never happened. What’s the matter?

Claire Bennett steps forward and knocks hard at the door. She shouts several times and no one
answers. She gives up.

She knows that the door of the villa should be guarded every day. Nobody is here today and the door is
locked. Leo Howard did it!

Thinking of Leo Howard, Claire Bennett suddenly puzzles. What does she do wrong again? Why does
he do this to her?



Although it is midsummer, the wind at night is still cool. Claire Bennett is wearing only one evening
dress so she is even colder.

If she stays out all night, she’ll probably freeze to death!

Claire Bennett thinks so and hurries to find a place to go in. She finds her surroundings locked up and
she can’t get in.

Claire Bennett sighs. She finds a low fence and tries to climb it into the villa.

Claire Bennett goes into the villa. She reaches the garden in the villa and wants to go back to her room.
But she finds that all the doors in the villa have been locked and she can not enter the house at all.

“Leo Howard, you’ve gone too far!” Claire Bennett curses and scolds.

It’s cold at night. Claire Bennett is very cold. Suddenly she sees a light still slightly on in the villa. Claire
Bennett remembers that this is the location of Leo Howard’s room.

In the room, Leo Howard is wearing a black coat and looking through the window at Claire Bennett.
Claire Bennett is shivering with cold.

“Need I help her back to her room for a rest?” Asked the maid tentatively.

Leo Howard frowns. He is angry at the thought that he saw her with Bryce. “No!”

She’d better freeze to death. She needs to be sober and know what to do and what not to do.

The maid is so frightened that she shuts her mouth and dares not speak any more.

Claire Bennett looks at the lights in Leo Howard’s room above. She shivers with cold. She prays that he
can see her and let her in. But she doesn’t realize that the lights in his room suddenly go out.



Claire Bennett is shocked. She sneezes and gnashes her teeth. Leo Howard, you are so cruel!

Claire Bennett no longer has any illusions about Leo Howard. She curls up in the corner and spends
the night outside.

On the second morning, Claire Bennett is frozen to wake up. When she wakes up, she looks up and
finds that the door is open. She rushes into the room.

Claire Bennett goes back to her room and takes a hot bath. Her body gets warmer. Then she goes to
Leo Howard.

Claire Bennett just comes into Leo Howard’s room and roars and asks, “Leo Howard, why didn’t you
tell me yesterday and left? Do you know how long I had been looking for you? Besides, why didn’t you
let me enter the villa?”

“Do you know that I almost froze to death outside last night? What did I do wrong to make you do this
to me? Do you understand that I am your wife? How can you treat me like this? You took care of me at
the banquet yesterday...”

In the end, Claire Bennett bites her lip. She really doesn’t know Leo Howard. Yesterday at the banquet,
he helped her and cared about her very much.

Leo Howard frowns without looking up. He sneers and says, “I protect you in front of outsiders because
I don’t want to be humiliated. Don’t pretend to me. You’re not a virgin. You’re a slut. Don’t pretend!
That’s ridiculous!”

“I’m pretending?” Claire Bennett doesn’t understand. Why does he mention that? She lost her virginity
before marriage. She explained that she was not willing at all. Why does he not believe her?

If she can, she doesn’t want to lose her virginity before marriage.



Claire Bennett says, “Leo Howard, you must tell me clearly why you say I am pretending.”

Claire Bennett grabs Leo Howard’s sleeve and refuses to let him go!

Leo Howard stares coldly at Claire Bennett in front of him. He gets angry at the thought of what
happened yesterday. He says indifferently, “Think about what you did at the party yesterday. I left you
there for a reason!”

Claire Bennett sees Leo Howard’s eyes cold. He doesn’t seem to be joking. She is suddenly silent.
Yesterday at the banquet...

Claire Bennett suddenly remembers her conversation with Bryce in the hallway of the bathroom. She
says quickly, “Did you see that Bryce and I were talking yesterday?”

Leo Howard sneers, “You admit it. You know yourself!”

Claire Bennett is embarrassed. “It’s not what you imagine. I’ll explain to you.”

“I saw it with my own eyes. What do you want to explain? Claire Bennett, you are my wife. But you
flirted with the heir of Bryce Group in the hallway of the bathroom. Do you want to say you are
innocent? You’re hypocritical enough!”

“It’s not what you think. Leo Howard, you must believe me. Nothing happened between Bryce and me.
We were just playmates when we were young. I made it clear to him yesterday.” Claire Bennett quickly
explains.

“Stop pretending! I don’t want to know what you said to another man. I only know you’re a slut. You lost
your virginity before marriage and you’re not a virgin.” Leo Howard is angry.

Claire Bennett is pale. She opens her mouth to explain something and finds that she can not explain it
at all.



She lost her virginity before marriage...

Claire Bennett lowers her head and clenches her teeth tightly. Her heart is so bad that she can not
breathe.
