Chapter 173 Meeting acquaintances at dinner

Who is this man? Why does he keep looking at her?

Claire is a little nervous. It’s dark now. Although the street lights light up the road, she feels a sense of

Claire secretly pinches Kate’s arm next to her, and Kate looks at Claire puzzledly. After receiving the

He takes a business card out of his coat pocket and nods politely to Claire and says, “Hello, miss. I’m
an agent for CBB. My name is Robert. Here is my business card. Please have a look.”

Claire freezes. She hesitates for a moment and takes the card.

Claire looks at the card casually under the street light. It says company and personal information. The
only thing she cares about is that it is a company that trains artists.

But why does he give her the card?

Claire hasn’t heard the name of the company and doesn’t know why the man wants her to give her a
business card. She looks at Robert in surprise and says, “what’s the matter?”

“I think you are beautiful and elegant. I’d like to invite you to be an artist in our company. I’m not a liar. If
you don’t believe me, you can take this card to ask your friends or take it to the relevant department for
investigation. It’s a regular company. I did not deceive you!” Robert is careful and thinks of all Claire’s
concerns.

“Artist?” Claire looks at the business card in her hand and then at the well-dressed man in front of her.
She is not suspicious of him. She just thinks it is funny. She has never thought of becoming an artist.

Kate immediately grabs Claire’s arm in excitement after listening to Robert. She whispers excitedly in
her ear, “Claire! Artist! This is a good opportunity. You can quickly become popular! And I’ve heard
about this company. It’s a great company and has a good reputation in the industry. You’re lucky!”

“Kate…” Claire shakes her head. She grabs the excited Kate and says helplessly, “I’m not interested in
being an artist.”

“Claire...” Kate tries to persuade Claire, but she is stopped by Claire again. She shakes her head firmly,
indicating that she has made up her mind.

Kate has to pout in disappointment and stop talking.

Claire turns to look at Robert and says apologetically, “I’m sorry. I never want to be an artist. And I’m 26
years old this year. Artists need to be young. I don’t want to and don’t fit. Thank you for your
appreciation. I’m sorry!”

With that, she bows her head slightly and politely refuses Robert’s invitation.

Robert looks at Claire in surprise. He didn’t expect that she is 26 years old. She looks like in her early
twenties.

But Robert doesn’t give up. He pushes the card back. He thinks of something and smiles, “keep the
card. I think you’ll need it sooner or later!”

Claire looks at the card in her hand. She wants to say no again but she finds out that Robert has left.
She can’t see him. So she has to put the card in her bag at will.



Just then a taxi passes by. They take a taxi to the restaurant.

They get off the taxi. Before they get to the door, Claire finds an acquaintance by accident.

“Luke? Why are you here?” Claire smiles and says hello, only to find Luke alone.

Luke hears her voice and turns to look at her. He says hello to Claire and Kate, “Claire, Kate, hello.
Why are you here?”

“We like the noodles here.” Claire is in a good mood to see Luke. She is smiling when she is talking.
“You haven’t said why you’re here. Are you alone?”

“Yes, I’m alone. I like the noodles here, too. It seems that we are predestined. Let’s go in together.”
Luke says politely.

“OK.” Claire responds cheerfully. When she takes Kate’s hand, she finds Kate unhappy. “Kate, what’s
the matter with you? Are you not feeling well?”

Hearing this, Luke stops and looks at Kate with concern.

Kate is even more upset when she sees Luke looking at her. She whispers to Claire, “isn’t he Leo’s
friend? Why do you look familiar with him?”

Kate and Luke only meet a few times, but maybe because of Leo, she doesn’t have a good impression
of him.

Claire chuckles and whispers to Kate, “it’s OK. Luke is a good man. He often helps me and sometimes
helps me deal with Leo. He is very kind.”

But Kate is still unhappy. She snorts, “I don’t believe it. Even if the people around Leo are not as bad as
he is, their temper will not be very good. I hate Leo and Luke. I don’t like them.”

he slows down and waits for them.

At dinner, Kate doesn’t give Claire any trouble. Instead of staring at Luke angrily, she ignores him.

Luke is not angry. He has a good temper.

Luke, Claire and Kate have dinner together. Luke wants to drive them home. Claire’s house is near, so
he drives Claire back to her apartment first.

Claire stands downstairs to say goodbye to Luke and Kate. She laughs happily. “Be safe. Good night.”

“Good night.” Luke and Kate speak in unison and look at each other. Kate pouts and disdains.

Claire is surprised. She looks at them. Suddenly there is something different in her eyes.
