“He’s in the hospital? What happened?”

“Nothing much. He’s sick, and I’ll go to see him tomorrow. You can come along.”

Jeff was unusually calm, his eyes fixed on Cynthia.

Early the next morning, Cynthia got up and prepared to go to the hospital.

After packing up, she was surprised to find that Jeff was waiting for her downstairs.

“Are you sure you want to come with me?”

“Of course. I’m a man of my word.”

In the hospital, Cynthia sat down by the bed and peeled an apple for her grandfather.

“Grandpa, have some fruit.”



After peeling the apple, Cynthia carefully fed him.

Jeff was touched to see how thoughtful she was.

“Let Jeff have some too. This is the first time I’ve seen him since you guys got married.

He really is a dashing guy different from the rumors. Girl, you’re blessed to have such a good
husband.”

The old man looked at Jeff happily.
