Chapter 378 - Qiao Qiao! Who Told You To Come Back?!

It was the first time the three shorter guards had experienced such an aura from Lu Beixiao.
"The three of you stay here and look after him. Do not let him out of your sight. Da Sha will lead the way. Let's go through," Lu Beixiao stood up and commanded.
Six members of the group quickly formed a line. Led by Da Sha, who was experienced in clearing mines, they carefully passed through the minefield. It was no easy task to navigate within the mind field and Da Sha had to be very cautious as he inspected the terrain.
Soon, they were able to pass through the minefield without detonating any of the mines.
"The three of you are females?" He Shan asked the guards as he recognized their feminine voice.
He tried to tempt the girls with wealth and empty promises.
"Good girls, this job is really tiring and life-threatening isn't it? If you let me go, come with me and I will give you enough wealth to enjoy the rest of your lives," He Shan said while enduring the pain.
"Follow you? To Hell? When you end up there, you won't have any glory or wealth," one of them replied.
She kicked He Shan in the head for what he said.
Suddenly, a loud sound was heard from inside the cave.
"Captain and the others are in danger!" Feng Zheng said as she recklessly tried to rush over.
Leng Yao immediately pulled her back and told her, "Calm down! Our mission is to keep an eye on him. The captain and the others will be fine!"
"There are tonnes of explosives in the cave. I am sure they will find it difficult to get through," He Shan provoked. He wanted them to rush in so that he could use the opportunity to escape.
"Go to hell," Leng Yao said to him and knocked He Shan unconscious with the back of her rifle.
Deep inside the cave, He Shan had mercenaries lying in ambush, guarding his vault. Once Lu Beixiao and his group entered, they engaged in a fight. However, the bandits were nowhere near as capable as the team Lu Beixiao had and were quickly brought down one after another.
Shortly after, they found He Shan's vault. They couldn't believe their eyes seeing how much gold was stored inside the vault.
"How many trips would it take to move all this gold?!" Fang Zhuo exclaimed. After taking note of the vault's location, they made their way back along the same path in reverse.
As they were about to clear the minefield, they saw He Shan dragging himself to the fuse.
He Shan was actually pretending to be unconscious when he was knocked by the rifle.
From afar, Lu Beixiao saw a white figure walking in the grass. It was Ye Qiao!
"Get down and take cover!" Ye Cheng roared.
Everyone saw He Shan and all of them got down to take cover. Ye Qiao was confused what was going on but she dropped down into a ditch and took cover as well.
Lu Beixiao ran ahead while Leng Yao ran towards He Shan. The two of them took their position in synchrony and started shooting at He Shan.
As soon as He Shan's hand reached the detonator, he was shot multiple times from both directions.
Everyone took cover and prepared for the worst but despite holding their position, they realized there was no detonation.

It was a false alarm!
When everyone got up, Lu Beixiao was already rushing towards Ye Qiao's position. He picked Ye Qiao up from the ditch she hid in like anyone would pick a cat up from the ground.
"Brother Xiao, are you hurt?" Ye Qiao asked concernly as she looked at Lu Beixiao.
"Qiao Qiao! Who told you to come back?! I told you to stay in the car and you still came out here?! Did you know that there was almost an explosion just now?!" Lu Beixiao's explosive roar reverberated through the cave walls.
