After returning to the Elysian Hotel with Carl, Sherry went back to her room.

She made sure to lock the door behind her as she entered. After that, she unpacked the luggage she
brought with her. She took a long–awaited shower before collapsing onto the bed in a set of pajamas.

She turned off the lights and the room immediately descended into darkness. It was so quiet that you
could hear a pin drop.

Yet, she did not feel sleepy.

Whenever she closed her eyes, the scene of John pressing her against the wall and forcing a kiss on
her would replay in her mind as if it had only happened seconds ago.

Her cheeks were burning with heat. She was incensed at the mere thought of it.

Did that awful man suddenly take an interest in her again after seeing her recent accomplishments?

After tossing and turning in bed for a while without even a hint of sleep, she sat up irritably and reached
for her phone.

As soon as the display lit up, she was greeted by Caprice’s adorable appearance filling the frame of the
display.

Just like that, her irritation was washed away. She grazed her fingers against the screen, a part of her
expecting to feel the soft texture and warmth of her daughter’s cheeks. She even kissed the screen

John arrived at the office with Caprice in his arms as usual.

He looked at him with a troubled expression and informed, “Sir, Miss Sherry just… I mean, President
Sherry’s assistant just got in contact with me several minutes ago.”

John turned to him. “What did her assistant tell you?”

Peter relayed the message, “Her assistant said that President Sherry would like to discuss some terms
of cooperation with us and would like to have a meeting for you. She asks when you will be able to
make time for her.”

John smirked.



She came to him herself without him even having to lift a finger.

After a momentary silence, he said, “I’m free after ten tonight. Tell her to wait for me at my residence.”

Peter was speechless.

A private meeting at his house in the middle of the night? Was this a usual arrangement for a business
meeting?

He knew better than to ask unnecessary questions. With a swift nod, he left and relayed the message
to Sherry’s assistant.

A few minutes later, he knocked on the door again and entered.

John looked at him, expecting news.

Peter grimaced. “Sir, President Sherry’s assistant informed me that President Sherry isn’t available at
night, she’s only free during the day.”

John was confident that her true motive was to see Caprice. He scoffed and insisted. “Tell her I can
only make it at night.”

If she would not agree, then she could say goodbye to her chances of meeting Caprice.

Peter seemed troubled by this and answered hesitantly, Sir, President Sherry’s assistant also
mentioned that she’d call off the meeting if it’s set at any time other than during the day. She says that
she’s very patient and would be willing to wait as long as needed for you to make time for her during
the day.”

John scowled.

He thought for a moment and decided. “Then I guess she’ll have to wait.”

Sherry had just wrapped up a meeting with the owner of the bar and was just walking out into the
street.

Her driver was already waiting for her.

She hopped into the car.

Her assistant Tristan followed her into the car and promptly informed her, “Miss Sherry, Peter just called
me and informed me that Master Stockton is only free at night lately. He says that if you wish to meet
him during the day, you’re going to have to wait until his schedule is open.”

Sherry clicked her tongue upon hearing this.

The b*stard must have done this deliberately to get on her nerves.

Tristan asked, “Miss, what should we do? Do you want me to get in touch with them again?”

Sherry frowned. “No need for that right now.”
