whisper. “Carl, what are you doing here?”

knew that it was nothing but a formal arrangement. Besides, what was the point of putting on such a
display in the office of all places? Did he realize how much gossip this would generate?

“I haven’t seen you for several days so I figured I’d pay you a visit,” he said as he handed the bouquet
to Sherry.

Sherry did not want to stay here even a second longer, especially with there being a crowd gawking at
them. She took the bouquet and quickly marched off.

Carl followed her closely and asked, “Sherry, where are you going?”

“I’m going home.”

“It’s so early, what are you going to do at home?”

Before Sherry could form a reply, he squinted his brows in suspicion and said with a wicked smile, “I
see, you’re going home to prepare for our engagement ceremony tomorrow aren’t you?”

Sherry grimaced and ignored him.

Carl smiled and continued, “You don’t need to worry about anything. Everything has been sorted out to
perfection. All you need to do is show up tomorrow.”



He propped an arm over Sherry’s shoulder as he said this.

Sherry snapped. “Get your hands off me.”

Would it kill you to be nicer to me?”
